With the Baltimore Ravens entering their first offseason since 2008 without a head coach, the team has been subject to many rumors. John Harbaugh, who was fired by Baltimore, kept this team competitive for a long time, so without him, questions arise, especially with a QB who needs a new contract.
Lamar Jackson Addresses Trade Rumors After Social Media Slip-Up
The Ravens and star Lamar Jackson have already gone through an extremely drawn-out contract process when his rookie deal was almost up, and that can easily happen again. With a contract situation, trade rumors start to erupt. This is what’s happening with Jackson, and a social media mistake from him didn’t help.
Lamar Jackson reposted this. 🤔
I mean, the Raiders have the draft ammo to do it. Fernando Mendoza to Baltimore? https://t.co/ZcebAbfmYV

Today, NFL and Ravens fans noticed that the star QB reposted a post of a child in Jackson’s jersey that had the caption, “Is this a good time to point out my (then) 3 year old MAY have predicted the potential move of @Lj_era8 to the Raiders?”
This was shocking to many because, with the contract in mind and the rumors already swirling, the timing of this repost was very interesting. As PFSN’s Matt Infante mentioned, the Las Vegas Raiders (the team the caption mentioned) has the assets to get a trade like this done.
Two days ago, it was revealed that there has been a bold prediction among NFL executives that has Jackson being traded to the Raiders. Again, this is just a bold prediction, but the fact that it’s even out there is worth noting. So, with Jackson’s repost, the Raiders being named, and trade rumors/ideas circulating, it’s understandable why trade conversations ignited.
Lol I just posted the kid in the jersey didn’t even read the caption 🤣🤦🏾♂️

Shortly after, when Jackson realized he had messed up, he quickly went to social media under the post and explained what happened, “Lol I just posted the kid in the jersey didn’t even read the caption.”
Ravens fans around the world must have let out a sigh of relief after this. As Jackson noted, this was a clear mistake, and the only reason he reposted it was because of the jersey the kid was wearing, nothing more.
The trade conversations were fun while they lasted, but until that contract extension becomes offical, it wouldn’t be shocking that these rumors continue throughout the offseason.
