Ravens Veteran Breaks Silence on Lamar Jackson’s Trade Rumors, ‘Disrespectful’ Remarks About 2-Time NFL MVP

Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson has faced increased speculation lately, and one teammate came to his defense.

The Baltimore Ravens have had a tumultuous season. However, they find themselves one win away from claiming the AFC North and hosting a playoff game. One player they are hoping to have in the lineup for that game is quarterback Lamar Jackson. He suffered a back contusion two weeks ago and missed last Saturday’s game because of it.

Now, the Ravens are hoping their two-time MVP will be able to play in the winner-take-all game Sunday night. Jackson has been injury-prone throughout his career, and this season is no different. However, people questioning Jackson’s toughness is not sitting well with one of his teammates.

Kyle Van Noy Speaks Out in Defense of Lamar Jackson

Ravens defensive end Kyle Van Noy joined Kay Adams on “Up & Adams” to discuss the final game for the Ravens and many of the things that have surrounded their team. One thing Van Noy said he was “disappointed” about is how people are talking about Jackson’s lack of toughness.

“The things he has played with and endured are kind of disrespectful…A lot of players play through a lot, he’s played through a lot…to sit here and question that (his toughness) is disappointing to see,” Van Noy said.

Reports have surfaced not only questioning Jackson’s toughness but also his work ethic, raising questions about his future in Baltimore. The Ravens’ future could go in a multitude of directions depending on the result of Sunday’s game.

If the Ravens can win, they will be in the playoffs and have a chance to silence the noise around them. However, if they lose and Jackson cannot play, there will likely be even more discussion about his future in Baltimore.

If people brought up the idea of the Ravens trading Jackson one year ago, most would have said they were crazy. At that point, he was coming off a first-team All-Pro season and finished second in league MVP voting. But that is how fast things can change in the NFL.

Jackson’s injury-riddled season, coupled with the Ravens’ potential absence from the playoffs, could prompt the organization to consider moving on from him. A trade involving Jackson would effectively signal the start of a rebuild in Baltimore, a scenario that would be met with strong disapproval from the team’s fan base.

Elite quarterbacks are rarely traded, and the notion itself underscores the gravity of such speculation. While it remains unlikely that Jackson will be playing elsewhere next season, the emergence of this discussion is troubling for the franchise.
