Since joining the league in 2013 as a first-round pick, DeAndre Hopkins has been one of the most consistently productive weapons in the entire NFL. During stints with the Houston Texans, Arizona Cardinals, and Tennessee Titans, he’s racked up some incredible numbers. However, playoff success has eluded him.
As a result, last year, he came to the Kansas City Chiefs via trade before joining the Baltimore Ravens in free agency this year. It’s clear that the Clemson product wants postseason success, but he’s very quickly becoming accustomed to life as a member of the Ravens roster.
DeAndre Hopkins Turning Into a Baltimore Fan
During his decade-plus tenure in the NFL, Hopkins has garnered quite a resume. Five Pro Bowl and All-Pro selections, alongside leading the league in receiving touchdowns in 2017, were the cream of the crop, but he’s already tallied close to 13,000 yards in his career.
From 2014-2020, he broke the 1,000-yard barrier in six out of seven seasons, including a career-high 1,572 yards in 2018 with the Houston Texans. But before the 2024 season, Hopkins had been a part of just four playoff runs and six total postseason matches.
To make matters worse, his productivity in those matches was far from excellent. Through six outings, he had totals of just 446 yards and a single touchdown. Then came the 2024 season. After being traded to the Chiefs, his numbers took a nosedive.
He finished the season with just 610 yards, by far the worst number of his career, barring a 2021 season where he played in just 10 games. However, his low productivity was part of a game plan from Kansas City to lower their trade returns, as they were tied to Hopkins’ stats.
Yet, the playoff run was even worse, as he averaged under 10 yards per game over the three matches. As a result, the veteran wide receiver wanted a change of scenery, and that is when the Baltimore Ravens came calling.
Joining the second-best offense in the league last year, per PFSN’s Offense+ metric, Hopkins can hope for a more productive year while having a chance at a deep playoff run once again. But beyond the success, he’s already become a fan of the organization for one key reason.
Speaking to reporters, Hopkins revealed, “The camaraderie. How close guys are. I think that’s what makes a great football team.” The Ravens posted the entire clip on their official X page, as he continued, “They do things, not just on the field but off the field, together.”

Claiming he was a big fan of that kind of chemistry, he called the bonding essential to ensure that the roster could succeed as a whole. For a Ravens team that has been looking to get out of the AFC ever since that explosive, unanimous MVP season from Jackson, 2025 offers a ripe chance.
They have an excellent roster, featuring a good collection of youth and veterans. Hopkins was another excellent addition, and he seems onboard with their philosophy. Now, it’s all about producing results on the field.
