The Baltimore Ravens are a franchise that has long leaned on tight ends in their offensive scheme, and on Wednesday, the team announced it had secured an extension to keep one of the NFL’s most dependable targets on its roster.
Ravens Secure Key Offensive Piece With $39.3 Million Deal
Mark Andrews has long been a cornerstone of the Ravens’ offense, serving as Lamar Jackson’s most trusted target and one of the most productive tight ends in franchise history. His combination of size, precise route-running, and reliability near the goal line has made him a fixture in Baltimore’s passing game since arriving as a third-round pick out of Oklahoma in 2018.
That role will continue for years to come. Andrews and the Ravens agreed to a three-year, $39.3 million contract extension Wednesday, keeping him in Baltimore through the 2028 season and preventing him from hitting free agency this offseason.

Andrews, 30, is a three-time Pro Bowler and earned first-team All-Pro honors in 2021, when he set franchise records with 107 receptions and 1,361 receiving yards.
Across his career, he has compiled 473 catches for 5,862 yards and 56 touchdowns. He is Baltimore’s all-time leader in touchdown receptions, a mark that underscores his ability to deliver in high-pressure moments and his long-standing role as a red-zone weapon.
This season, Andrews has posted 37 receptions for 332 yards and five touchdowns through 12 games. He has also added 45 rushing yards and a score on gadget plays, giving the Ravens versatility in key situations and forcing defenses to account for him in multiple ways.
According to the PFSN TE Impact metric, Andrews ranks 38th in the league at 72.8. While the metric places him outside the statistical elite, his influence extends beyond numbers. Coaches and teammates often point to his leadership and preparation as examples for younger players, and his presence is viewed as stabilizing both on the field and in the locker room.
The Ravens enter Week 14 at 6-6, tied with the Pittsburgh Steelers for first place in the AFC North. Their upcoming divisional matchup carries major playoff implications, and Andrews’ chemistry with Jackson gives Baltimore a proven weapon in a game that could shape the rest of their season.
The extension reflects the Ravens’ commitment to maintaining continuity around Jackson and their offensive core. Andrews had previously expressed his desire to remain in Baltimore, saying earlier this year that playing for the city and organization “means everything” to him.
For a franchise that has leaned heavily on tight ends in its offensive scheme, securing Andrews ensures stability and keeps one of the NFL’s most dependable targets in purple and black. The Ravens now move forward with their star quarterback and trusted tight end locked in as they pursue another deep playoff run in the AFC.
