After their tenth loss this season, the Las Vegas Raiders have shown little to no signs of promise. While second-year tight end Brock Bowers and rookie running back Ashton Jeanty have performed well, the team has struggled to compete around them.
With 2025 cemented as a losing season, the question becomes: when will good things happen for Las Vegas? For a former Raiders head coach, the answer is not soon.
Ex-Raiders Bench Boss Believes Raiders Are Trending in Dangerous Direction
When Pete Carroll returned to coach the Las Vegas Raiders, many believed the longtime Seattle Seahawks bench boss would have the answers. Unfortunately, it has been the complete opposite, and the Raiders look like a mess across the board.
During a segment of “The NFL on CBS,” Antonio Pierce was asked when good things would happen to his former team, and he gave a troubling answer.
Good things are going to happen soon for the Raiders?

After briefly debating how to respond, Pierce began by stating the recent firing of offensive coordinator Chip Kelly. Following that, last year’s bench boss claimed the offense was lackluster during his time with the club.
“I was there last year, we didn’t have a good offense, still don’t have a good offense, fanbase is upset.”
Pierce continued, “I got no confidence. ‘We’re talking about offseasons?’ It might take decades to fix this bad boy coming up. One and done, one and done, one and done, is there another coach gone, another coordinator? Everyone’s pointing fingers, at some point you point there, the thumb points back.”
With Los Angeles officially sweeping Las Vegas in the division series, the Raiders continue to look for answers.
Raiders Spiraling out of Control in Loss to Chargers
It was ugly all around for the Raiders on Sunday, dropping their sixth-straight and falling to 2-10. During the loss, Raiders defensive end Maxx Crosby acted out, shoving Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert to the ground. Understanding his wrongdoing, Crosby later apologized to the Los Angeles gunslinger.
Despite their struggles, players on opposing teams are not taking the Las Vegas players’ antics kindly. After the 31-14 demolition, Chargers safety Derwin James gave his input on the Crosby-Herbert incident.
Chargers S Derwin James on the hit of Maxx Crosby on QB Justin Herbert, “Oh, I was mad about that. I was hot about that. I was actually standing on the sideline, but I got good relationship with Maxx. I know he not that type of player. Hopefully, he didn’t do it on purpose.” pic.twitter.com/KscZA9JMTW

“I was mad about that, I was hot about that,” said James. “I was standing on the sideline, but I got a good relationship with Maxx. I know he’s not that type of player, hopefully he didn’t try to do it on purpose, but at the end of the day, that’s my quarterback, gonna make sure he’s good always.”
As the Raiders’ season winds down, players and coaches alike appear frustrated, expressing their agitation in various ways. With the trend seemingly showing no signs of ending, how can Las Vegas turn its franchise around?
