The journey of Quinn Ewers becoming one of the top quarterbacks in the 2025 NFL Draft class started long before he played at Southlake Carroll Senior High School. It began with a simple father-son game of tackle.
“I’d get down on my knees and we’d play tackle, and then we’d just throw the ball back and forth,” Ewers’ father, Curtis Ewers, said. Fast forward to 2025, and Quinn is about to begin the most important chapter of his football career: the NFL.
Here is everything you need to know about Ewers’ siblings and family ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft.
Who Are Quinn Ewers’ Siblings?
Quinn was born in March 2003 to Kristen and Curtis Ewers. They are a family of five, as he has two sisters and is the middle child.
Ewers’ older sister, who had already graduated college by 2021 while Quinn was still in high school, is now married and has three children. His younger sister, Teddy-Raye Ewers, plays volleyball at Southlake Carroll High School as of 2025. Their father has publicly shown his support for her athletic pursuits.
“Proud of this 7th grade athlete, Teddy-Raye Ewers. Her journey in @SLCAthletics will be fun,” Curtis tweeted back in 2021. Given that Teddy-Raye was in seventh grade in 2021, she would now be a junior in high school.
Ewers’ father has also been supportive and hands-on with his son’s football career. Not only was he Quinn’s first coach, but he also accompanied him on several college visits.
“We decided years ago that we wanted Quinn to do this on his own and that we would support him by just being around if he needed us,” Curtis said in an interview. “We do normal parenting things. We have tough conversations when he messes up. But this is his journey.”
“We’re just trying to be sensible,” Curtis added about managing his son’s rising fame. “We don’t worry too much about the fame. We just tell him to be himself. We could be naive. The risk is that you don’t know what the reward will be if you lay off. But we’ve decided to lay off.”
The interview also described how Ewers enjoyed doing small, everyday things with his family during summer break. They spent weekends at a reservoir west of Southlake, where he would waterski, wake surf, and fish. He also helped with chores — making his bed, folding laundry, taking out the trash, and mowing the lawn.
Ewers’ College Career and 2025 NFL Draft Projection
Ewers built a strong reputation even before finishing high school. A standout passer, he famously received his first scholarship offer before high school. As a sophomore at the varsity level, he put up 3,998 yards, 45 touchdowns, and just three interceptions.
Ewers was a consensus five-star recruit and the No. 1 overall player in the 2021 class, according to several outlets. While he originally committed to Texas, Ewers later flipped to Ohio State. But after a year with the Buckeyes, he transferred back to Texas to continue his career.
In 2022, his first year as a starter, Ewers threw for 2,177 yards, 15 touchdowns, and six interceptions. A year later, he passed for 3,479 yards, 22 touchdowns, and six interceptions with a 69% completion rate, leading Texas to a Big 12 Championship and a College Football Playoff appearance. He set the record for most passing yards in a Big 12 title game and was named MVP.
In a recent seven-round mock draft, PFSN’s Jacob Infante projects Ewers to go in Round 4 at No. 108 overall to the Las Vegas Raiders. However, it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s selected earlier.
