Working out prior to the NFL Draft at a Pro Day can significantly help a player’s draft position. However, there are also plenty of risks when it comes to performing drills ahead of the NFL Draft.
Unfortunately, one potential first-round pick found this out the hard way when he suffered an injury at his Pro Day.

Ohio State Star Tyleik Williams Suffers Injury at Pro Day
Tyleik Williams is among the top defensive tackle prospects in the 2025 NFL Draft. While running his 40-yard dash at Ohio State’s Pro Day, the defensive tackle went down with an injury.
The severity and nature of the injury are not known at this time, but the timing of the injury is not ideal for Williams, with the NFL Draft less than a month away.

Williams registered 46 tackles (16 solo, 30 assists), eight tackles for loss, 2.5 sacks, and a pass deflection in 13 games in 2024. He was Third-team All-Big Ten in 2024 and was Second-team All-Big Ten in 2023.
The 6’3″ defensive tackle played a crucial role for Ohio State’s defense and helped lead the team to a National Championship to end his collegiate career.
“Hate to see this,” said NFL insider Albert Breer. “Ohio State DT Tyleik Williams is probably Top 100 or so pick, was an ultra-productive college player. Doesn’t look great. Hope he’s alright.”

In PFSN’s latest seven-round mock draft, Williams was predicted to be picked by the San Francisco 49ers. Rolfe had the 49ers trading pick Nos. 43 and 113 to the New England Patriots to move up to take Williams at No. 38.
“The 49ers capitalize on the depth at defensive tackle, trading up to grab a first-round talent who slipped,” said PFSN’s Ben Rolfe. “With Javon Hargrave gone, they need a difference-maker on the interior, and Williams provides that potential. Given other teams in this range are also eyeing defensive tackles, San Francisco makes the smart move to jump ahead.”

With the injury to Williams, attention may shift to other top prospects at defensive tackle as teams look to address their needs at the position. Mason Graham, Walter Nolen, Kenneth Grant, Derrick Harmon, Alfred Collins, and T.J. Sanders are among the top names, and other prospects could see their draft stock rise as a result of this news.
The severity of Williams’s injury remains to be seen, but we hope for a speedy recovery. His stock will be something to keep an eye on as the NFL Draft approaches.
