    Patriots-49ers Injury Report Takeaways

    • For the 49ers, the big news is on Deebo Samuel Sr. and George Kittle. The initial reports on Samuel were that he’d miss two games, including the Patriots matchup, due to a calf injury, so his return to practice indicates he could beat that timeline. As for Kittle, he sounds confident he’ll play Sunday after sitting out last week.

“Very excited to play football … feeling fantastic,” Kittle told reporters on Thursday, via ESPN’s Nick Wagoner.

    • We already know that Javon Hargrave won’t play on Sunday. He likely will miss the rest of the season due to a triceps tear.
    • Brock Purdy and Trent Williams appear to be full-gos after dealing with minor issues early in the week.
    • As for the Patriots, they were without Alex Austin, Vederian Lowe, and Mike Jordan for the third consecutive practice. At this point, it looks like Sidy Sow will return from his ankle injury to start at left guard, while the situation at left tackle remains less clear.
    • Rookie Caedan Wallace started in place of Lowe last week, but he struggled and now is dealing with a knee injury. Newcomer Demontrey Jacobs appeared to be the top left tackle during Thursday’s practice.
    • Anfernee Jennings was a limited participant after sitting out the previous two practices. That’s a positive development for one of New England’s most consistent edge players.
    • Hunter Henry and Christian Gonzalez both appeared to move well during Thursday’s practice. It would be a surprise if either missed Sunday’s game.
