The Kansas City Chiefs have won nine straight AFC West championships. This streak does predate quarterback Patrick Mahomes taking over as the team’s starting signal caller. However, one cannot deny that entering the 2025 NFL season, Mahomes has extended the Chiefs’ streak and made it seem like their run might never end.
Kansas City fans can only hope that the streak of success under Patrick continues into this year. For his part, the three time Super Bowl champ said he gives credit to someone special in his life.

The Chargers went 11-6 last season, far behind the Chiefs and their 15-2 record.
The Chiefs drafted Patrick as the No. 10 overall pick back in 2017. He has since recorded 4,171 passing yards and touchdowns, in addition to boasting a 66.6 completion percentage on his career so far with Kansas City.
As for rushing, the Texas Tech alum has tallied 2,243 yards across 432 carries for 14 touchdowns.
Brittany has modeled for Sports Illustrated Swimsuit and has also become quite close with international superstar Taylor Swift, as Patrick and Chiefs’ star Travis Kelce have a strong friendship on and off the field. Swift and Kelce also recently announced their engagement on Aug. 26.

According to eonline.com, Patrick himself previously said in a podcast that he often feels that fans do not give Brittany enough credit for how much support she provides him with.
“I think people don’t realize how much she does,” Patrick said on Logan Paul’s “Impaulsive” podcast earlier this spring. “Taking care of the day-to-day stuff and making it so where I can focus on football, focus on my craft and everything like that. Just being a hall of fame mom and hall of fame wife.”
Clearly, Patrick can always count on his wife for being his No. 1 fan.
Patrick and the Kansas City Chiefs face off against the Chargers with an 8:00 p.m. EST kickoff on Friday night from Sao Paulo, Brazil.
