This Sunday, May 11, marked Mother’s Day, and several NFL players took the opportunity to honor the important women in their lives — including three-time Super Bowl champion Patrick Mahomes.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback shared a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a carousel of photos dedicated to his wife, Brittany Lynne, the mother of their three children.
Mahomes Shares Mother’s Day Message For His Wife
Through his personal Instagram account, Mahomes shared a heartfelt collection of photos featuring his wife with their children in candid, everyday moments, offering fans a glimpse into the couple’s family life off the field.
In the caption, Mahomes kept it simple and sweet: “Happy Mother’s Day! Love You.” His wife replied with a playful and affectionate comment, reflecting the couple’s close bond: “I love you, thanks for making babies with me.”
Mahomes and Lynne share a long-lasting love story that began all the way back in 2011, when the two met at Whitehouse High School in Texas. The couple dated through their teenage years and managed to keep their relationship strong even while attending different colleges.
Mahomes headed to Texas Tech, where he became one of the top college football players in the country, while Lynne played soccer at the University of Texas.
In 2020, after years of dating, Mahomes proposed in a VIP suite at Arrowhead Stadium, a fitting moment for a quarterback already becoming the face of the NFL. Just months later, the couple welcomed their first child, Sterling Skye Mahomes, in February 2021.
The two tied the knot in 2022 and soon announced they were expecting their second child. In November of that year, their son Patrick “Bronze” Lavon Mahomes III was born. Most recently, in January 2025, they welcomed their third child, a daughter named Golden Raye.
Mahomes’ Strong Relationship
Their relationship — from high school sweethearts to parents of three — is a rare example of enduring love, marked by shared growth, deep support, and mutual admiration every step of the way.
In an interview on Logan Paul’s “IMPAULSIVE” podcast, Mahomes opened up about how pivotal his relationship with his wife has been to his success both on and off the field.
“I think people don’t even realize how much she does, taking care of the day-to-day stuff and making it to where I can focus on football, focus on my craft and everything like that,” Mahomes said. “Just being a Hall of Fame mom and Hall of Fame wife. It makes things a lot easier when you get to come home and your best friend is there.”
The relationship between Mahomes and Lynne has become one of the most recognizable in the NFL, largely due to the Chiefs’ recent dominance and Brittany’s visible support during games. Now as parents of three, the couple continues to show how a strong and supportive family structure can serve as a foundation for long-term success, both professionally and personally.
