Patrick Mahomes Drops 4-Word Reaction After Tom Brady Adds Chiefs QB’s $7,500 Rookie Card to His Collection

Patrick Mahomes has been one of the top quarterbacks throughout his first seven years as a starter (eight seasons total) with the Kansas City Chiefs. With trading cards regaining popularity, landing a rookie card could be valuable for any collector. However, with his continued success on the field, the price for Mahomes’ rookie card has skyrocketed.

An avid collector has added the Mahomes rookie card to their collection, as seven-time Super Bowl-winning quarterback and current FOX commentator Tom Brady purchased the card. What was Mahomes’ reaction to seeing Brady purchase the card?

Patrick Mahomes Reacts to Tom Brady Buying His Rookie Card

Brady would appear on Complex’s YouTube channel and go card shopping with Joe La Puma for a video and find a rookie Mahomes card that he would wind up purchasing.

“I see this one, this Patrick Mahomes, I didn’t even see that one. When did this come in? I want that in my collection, save that, make sure you don’t sell that one. That is definitely in my collection.”

Brady was able to buy the card and views the $7,500 rookie card as an investment. After all, Mahomes is expected to continue to be one of the top quarterbacks of all time and continue to be in the conversation for the Super Bowl on an annual basis.

Mahomes would comment on the Instagram video from Complex highlighting that section of their YouTube video and commenting on how he wants his rookie card.

    “Let me get that!”

Mahomes is entering his age-30 season and has a Pro Football Hall of Fame resume already at this point. He has completed 66.6% of his passes for more than 32,000 yards with 245 passing touchdowns to 74 interceptions in the regular season.

He also has 46 passing touchdowns to 10 interceptions during his 21 postseason games while garnering three Super Bowl rings, and he’s expected to continue improving on those numbers.

We do not know what a rookie Mahomes card will be worth when the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback calls it a career, but this is certainly a card that is expected to increase in value with the trajectory his career appears to be on. With an estimated net worth of $300 million, it would be a drop in the bucket for Brady to give Mahomes his rookie card or for Mahomes to purchase one of his own.

It will be interesting to see how the remainder of Mahomes’ career goes and how high the value of his rookie card can go. The card Brady purchased was graded 8.5, so there are cards that have higher valuations on them.
