On Tuesday morning, the NFL released the Pro Bowl rosters for the 2025 season. Among the selections were three Chicago Bears: safety Kevin Byard, offensive guard Joe Thuney, and center Drew Dalamn. However, one surprising omission immediately stood out.
Cornerback Nahshon Wright, who is in the midst of a breakout season, was left off the list despite leading the league in turnovers forced. The decision left many scratching their heads, including two current NFL players.
NFL Players React to Nahshon Wright Being Snubbed from the Pro Bowl
Following the announcement of the Pro Bowl rosters, Micah Parsons and Darius Slay took to X to share their confusion as to why Wright wasn’t named a Pro Bowler.
Both Parsons’ and Slay’s comments echo the sentiments of many Bears fans right now. This season, Wright has gathered seven takeaways (five interceptions and two forced fumbles), as well as recovering three more fumbles. Those are decent numbers that should have had him in the Pro Bowl team.
Both former Pro Bowl Defensive ends voiced their opinions on the practices of the NFL authorities. Parsons wrote on X,” Nashone Wright getting snubbed for first team pro bowl selection is crazy!!”

Slay pointed out that having the most turnovers and still not making it to the Pro Bowl seemed unreal. He wrote, “Had the most T.O in the league is crazy an not make it. @NFL we have to do better.”

According to PFSN’s cornerback impact metric, Wright ranks 42nd with an impact score of 77.0. For a player thrust into action due to injuries, his performance in 2025 has been nothing short of incredible. That’s what makes it confusing not to name him a Pro Bowler.
The cornerbacks voted in instead of Wright include Christian Gonzalez, Derek Stingley Jr., Pat Surtain II, and Denzel Ward. There is little argument against Surtain or Stingley making the roster, as both have played at an elite level. However, Wright had a legitimate case to be selected over either Gonzalez or Ward.
Even though Ward is still a solid cornerback, 2025 has been the worst year of the veteran’s career. According to PFSN’s CB impact metric, Ward has a 75.1 impact score. His 75.1 score is two points lower than his next-worst season in the NFL.
While the Pro Bowl has long been influenced by popularity and name recognition, it should still reflect on-field performance. By that measure, Wright clearly did enough in 2025 to earn a spot. Leaving him off the roster is not just surprising; it reinforces why Pro Bowl selections continue to draw criticism across the league.
