With Jeff Hafley emerging as one of the hottest names on the NFL’s coaching carousel, the Green Bay Packers are bracing for the possibility that their defensive coordinator could be gone after just one season, but inside the Packers’ locker room, Micah Parsons offered a very different view.
Micah Parsons Makes His Feelings on Jeff Hafley Crystal Clear
Parsons spoke to reporters Monday after the Packers’ loss to the Bears on Wild-Card weekend. Hafley received interview requests from five teams, including the Miami Dolphins, Las Vegas Raiders, Tennessee Titans, Arizona Cardinals, and Atlanta Falcons.
While many around the league believe Hafley’s strong debut in the Packers has put him on a fast track to another top job, Parsons sounded confident the partnership is just getting started.
“Haf ain’t goin’ nowhere,” Parsons said with a smile.

Parsons went further, emphasizing how much he values the relationship he has built with Hafley and how excited he is about what a second season in the system could bring.
“It’s always great that you got a coach like that,” Parsons said. “Me and Haf have a great relationship, and he’s another guy I can’t wait to have another year with.”
That confidence is rooted in how Hafley shaped the Packers’ defense this season. The Packers ranked 17th in PFSN’s DEFi, despite losing Parsons in Week 15 to an ACL injury. Hafley’s rise has been rapid. After one season running the Packers’ defense, he has already drawn interest from five franchises looking for their next head coach. Packers coach Matt LaFleur has acknowledged that Hafley is likely to receive one of those jobs.
Hafley has not hidden his ambition to one day become a head coach. Despite the outside noise, Parsons believes the defense is only scratching the surface of what it can be under Hafley.
“I know he’s going to do everything he can this offseason to put me in the best position,” Parsons said. “He’s a mastermind when it comes to moving me around, and we did a lot of great things this year. I just think we just saw a glimpse.”
The Packers finished 9-7-1 and second in the NFC North, but the defense took a major step forward under Hafley’s direction. With names like John Harbaugh and Kevin Stefanski still available, it’ll be interesting to see if a team jumps quickly for Hafley.
