The Green Bay Packers own the 23rd pick in the 2025 NFL Draft, after a Wild Card Round exit last season. Jordan Love recently appeared on “Up & Adams” to discuss his thoughts heading into his third year as the team’s starting quarterback and talked about how much input he’ll give during Green Bay’s pre-draft process.
Does Jordan Love Discuss the Draft With Green Bay’s Execs?
The Packers shockingly picked Love in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft. He backed up Aaron Rodgers for three years before getting his shot in 2023. After a slow start, Love led Green Bay to a 9-8 record and a Wild Card Berth, throwing for over 4,100 yards and 32 touchdowns that season. They eventually lost in the Divisional Round, but Love had firmly established himself as Green Bay’s leader.
Love signed a four-year, $220 million extension last offseason and led the team to another Wild Card Berth in 2024. However, they struggled against the NFC’s elite. Love regressed to just 3,389 yards, 25 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while battling through multiple injuries.
So, how do the Packers improve in 2025? No player surpassed 1,000 receiving yards last year, and the team doesn’t have an established number one option. Christian Watson, the number one on paper, hauled in just 29 receptions, 620 yards, and two touchdowns in 15 games. Jayden Reed led the team with 55 catches and 857 yards, but Love needs more.
The quarterback went on the latest episode of “Up & Adams”, and Kay Adams wanted to know if he will have any input into Green Bay’s draft strategy.
She asked, “The Packers have eight picks. How do you, as a leader on this team, communicate to the powers that be, that are doing their job, what positions you’re interested in? How do you communicate your thoughts on the draft?”

Love responded, “Everybody’s got thoughts and opinions. The Packers do a great job. We talk with Gute, the GM, and Matt [LeFleur]. We talk after the season, what directions we feel we have to go in for next season. I kind of just let them do their thing.
“They’re the pros at this, going through the draft process, interviewing all these guys, and just figuring out who’s gonna be a good player fit but also just a good locker room fit for the team. That’s a huge part to it. Guys that come in are ready to learn, and they’re ready to compete and be great teammates.
“I kind of let them handle their business. The draft is always a hectic period. You never know who you’re gonna get. What pick? What trades are gonna happen? I like to sit back and take it all in, and be ready to reach out to those guys after the fact.”
Green Bay is expected to select Ohio State receiver Emeka Egbuka at No. 23 in PFSN’s latest two-round mock draft. Cameron Sheath described Egbuka as “A team-first receiver with exceptional route-running ability. His willingness to block in the run game makes him a great fit for Matt LaFleur’s offense”.
The Packers have been looking for Davante Adams’ replacement since they traded him in 2022. Egbuka doesn’t project as an NFL alpha receiver, but adding any weapons to Love’s arsenal is a smart choice.
