National Championship winner and extremely talented WR Omar Cooper Jr. is set to participate in the 2026 NFL Combine on Saturday.
Cooper is a part of an extremely talented WR class, and with a great performance at the Combine, he can separate himself from some of the day 2 options. After his excellent season catching passes from projected #1 pick Fernando Mendoza at Indiana, the skillful WR is set to participate in each drill. Cooper Jr. is expected to have a standout performance at the Combine, which is once again being hosted in Lucas Oil Stadium.
Omar Cooper Jr. Scouting Report and NFL Draft Projection
Cooper Jr.s draft stock may take a rise after a great combine performance, but for now, Looking at the PFSN Mock Draft Simulator, here is the scouting report for the WR: “Cooper Jr. is one half of Indiana’s dynamic duo at WR, and like his teammate Elijah Sarratt, it’s entirely possible he’s off the board within the Top 100 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft.”
“At 6’0”, 201 pounds, Cooper is a dense, compact pass-catcher with a low center of gravity and effortless explosiveness and vertical stretching. He can extend seams as a RAC threat with his range and contact balance, and he has the quickness and prying strength to work through adjacent contact — but he also flashes great salesmanship and tempo control as a route runner.
“Drops can be an issue on occasion for Cooper, and he has room to keep refining his route tree in the intermediate range, but overall, he’s a budding three-level threat with a particular affinity for RAC accumulation and vertical advances.”
In PFSN’s latest seven-round 2026 NFL mock draft, Cooper Jr. was projected to be selected by the Las Vegas Raiders with the 36th overall pick.
Explaining this selection by the Raiders, PFSN’s Jacob Infante wrote: “Omar Cooper Jr. is an impressive wide receiver with strong ball skills, coordination, and strong hands. If he continues to develop as a route runner, he has the potential to be an impact starter. Reuniting him with Mendoza in Las Vegas would be a dream landing spot for him.”
