What Did Melnikova Say After Topping the All-Around Charts in the Qualifiers of the Competition?

Melnikova made her feelings known after finishing at the top of the list after the qualifiers. She finished with a score of 54.566 in this round of the competition. In an interview with Olympics.com following her performance, she expressed her happiness with this performance and, especially, with her vault execution. She said:

“I’m so happy to be here. It’s my first major competition since 2021. I’m a little bit upset about my mistake on beam and on floor because I have a dream to be a world champion on floor. But I am happy about my vault because it is so difficult. After I was in Paris, I realised that I must do it because if I want to get a medal at the Worlds, I need the difficulty.”
