Nebraska Volleyball player Virginia Adriano recently turned emotional. The opposite player described her experience with the Big Red team through her recent Instagram post.
Adriano is an Italian player who initially represented the Bergamo team in Serie A1, Italy’s top professional volleyball league. She transferred to the Nebraska team in the 2025 season.
Virginia Adriano Goes Emotional On Describing Journey with Nebraska Volleyball
The 21-year-old shared some glimpses from her debut year with the Nebraska Cornhuskers on Instagram. The opposite player wrote in the caption of her Instagram post,
“Grateful for these people. To the next one!❤️ #gbr”
Several former and present members of the Big Red team reacted to this emotional post. Maisie Boesiger and Skyler Pierce sent red heart emojis in the comment section, while Teraya Sigler dropped the following reaction, “Loveee.”
Fellow freshman Kenna Cogill turned affectionate as she wrote, “I LOVE YOU ❤️”
Even Harper Murray couldn’t resist herself as she wrote, “love u.”

Outgoing players Rebekah Allick and Taylor Landfair also showered their affection in the comments section. While Allick wrote, “Love you Vivi!!”
Landfair dropped the following reaction: “You’re so cute!”
Unless Adriano opts otherwise, she has at least one more year of college eligibility, given that she joined the Huskers in the 2025 season.
Career Profile of Nebraska Volleyball Opposite Adriano
Adriano joined the Big Red team in the 2025 season. Before that, she represented the Bergamo team in the 2024 season. She also represented Italy at the junior level. Her best performance came in the Junior World Championships [U21], where Italy finished in second position.
Adriano was offered a position at the University of Nebraska, which she accepted with great enthusiasm. She was a crucial part of the Big Red Team that won the Big Ten Conference title for the third consecutive time since 2023.
Adriano also took part in the 2025 NCAA Championships. Despite the unfortunate loss to the Texas A&M Aggies in the quarterfinals, the Huskers won the hearts of almost everyone with their performance. Even the opposing head coach, Jamie Morrison, acknowledged the sportsmanship of Nebraska fans when they turned out to support the Aggies in the semifinals.
Adriano was awarded Big Ten Freshman of the Week for her performance against the Pittsburgh Panthers. The opposite player generated an impressive total of six kills and three blocks in the debut match.
Adriano finished her first year on a high note with a brilliant strike rate of 2.16 kills per set, a hitting percentage of 0.287, and a defensive strike rate of 0.67 blocks per set and 15 aces.
