Virginia Adriano Hails ‘Insane’ Support From Nebraska Volleyball Fans After Huskers’ 350-Match Sellout Streak

Nebraska Volleyball freshman Virginia Adriano praised the team’s fans after the Huskers recorded 350 consecutive sellouts at their home arena.

Virginia Adriano has quickly become one of the most exciting additions to the Nebraska Volleyball squad this season. The 6-foot-5 athlete has made an immediate impact whenever she takes the court.

Her recent performance against Iowa was a perfect example, tallying nine kills with a .500 success rate, along with three blocks and three aces. While Adriano continues to impress on the court, she’s equally amazed by Nebraska’s fans, whose unwavering support, filling arenas day after day and across the nation, has left a lasting impression on her.

How Nebraska Volleyball Fans Left Virginia Adriano in Awe

Nebraska Volleyball fans recently set an incredible milestone with a 350th consecutive sellout at the Devaney Center, and Adriano can’t help but be in awe. She admitted she’s never seen this kind of support in volleyball, calling it ‘insane.’ For her, it’s more than just impressive; it’s a source of inspiration for the team and a key factor in their success on the court.

After Nebraska’s 3-0 sweep against Iowa, Adriano told the media she’s amazed by the Huskers’ fans, saying there’s truly no place like Nebraska when it comes to the unwavering support they give the team.

The freshman stated, “Yeah. It’s insane. It’s something that I’ve never seen before. I know that maybe you can think internationally, and it’s way bigger, but it’s really not. College volleyball is insane, and I know there’s no place like Nebraska.”

“Everybody keeps saying that, and it’s very true. It’s like an insane number, and the support that we have here, and we have had all the past years. As someone said in the video, it’s one of the reasons why we keep going and are good.”

The Nebraska volleyball team continues to impress, having already earned a share of its third consecutive Big Ten title. All they need now is one more win in their remaining three matches against Indiana, Penn State, and Ohio State to claim it outright.

Adriano on the Uniqueness of College Sports as an International Student

When asked if her Italian teammates or former teammates were curious about her move to the U.S. and her decision to join Nebraska, Adriano didn’t hold back. She explained that what truly stands out for her is the college sports experience at Nebraska, a level of competition and fan support that’s unlike anything in Europe, especially in Italy.

In an earlier press conference, she stated, “I also have a couple of people that I know who play here. I had a friend at Michigan State, and one in Maryland. I think we’re opening a new era for international students to come here and experience this, just the college sport, which doesn’t really exist in Europe. I’m talking specifically about Italy, and I think it’s very cool to get the chance to experience it.”

For Adriano, competing in the Big Ten and at Nebraska isn’t just about the game; it’s about facing intense competition head-on. She also loves the challenge of balancing school and sport at such a high level, calling the experience both demanding and incredibly rewarding.
