The Viral Outfits Of Team USA For The Winter Olympics Explained

The Ralph Lauren outfits for Team USA at the Winter Olympics are gaining buzz all over social media. Ice dancing pair Evan Bates and Madison Chock were seen flaunting one in a commercial published by Team USA on their Instagram page, with the following caption,

“Perfectly in love. Perfectly styled. From the ice to their #RLxTeamUSA Opening and Closing Ceremony outfits, no detail goes unnoticed for figure skating duo @madisonchock and @evan_bates.#WinterOlympics”

This is the 10th consecutive year the luxury apparel brand will sponsor Team USA for the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the Winter Olympics. Since the early 90s, Ralph Lauren has been sponsoring most of the apparel for American athletes, including the Summer Olympics.

The opening ceremony collection features the following :

  • A Winter-White wool coat with wooden toggle closures
  • A knit sweater with the American flag embedded on the same
  • Tailored trousers

The closing ceremony is set to give Team USA an extra dose of style. The American contingent will be decked out in everything from sporty, color-blocked puffer jackets to wool turtleneck sweaters and crisp white utility pants. The look is finished with knit hats and suede alpine boots, rounding out a head-to-toe ensemble that blends comfort with cool.

According to a press note issued by David Lauren, the chief branding and innovation officer for Ralph Lauren,

“Our design philosophy has always been about creating dreams and telling stories through style, and these uniforms, both timeless and modern, reflect the passion, optimism, and relentless pursuit of excellence that embody the American spirit.”

However, that’s not all. The American team has also been provided with bald eagle street-style kits, which display the national ensign of the United States of America in all its glory.

According to a press note issued by Team Nike on their webpage,

“The collection is informed by the Team USA archives, and many pieces incorporate the iconic American bald eagle, reinforcing both national pride and an unmistakable visual identity.”

Team USA has been consistent in its medal tally at the Winter Olympics. The Americans finished third overall at the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing and will aim to go a step further this time.
