Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone Confesses She Gets ‘Stressed When Late’ After Stellar Track Season

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone opened up about her punctuality and time management after her successful 2025 season.

Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone recently reflected on the importance of time and discipline following the end of her successful 2025 track and field season. In 2025, she shattered the 19-year-old American record in the 400m flat with a 48.29s run in the semifinal and then lowered it again to 47.78s in the final of the World Athletics Championships 2025.

With this, she also moved to second on the all-time list, placing herself just behind Marita Koch’s 40-year-old record of 47.60 s, narrowing in on the longstanding world record. This comes in the same year she switched from the 400m hurdles to the 400m flat, testing herself in the event for this year.

What Did Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone Reveal About Her Punctuality?

In a recent interview with Vanity Fair, amid the offseason, McLaughlin-Levrone was asked about her punctuality and how she manages her time. The American has also been a brand ambassador for the Swiss luxury watch brand, TAG Heuer, since 2021.

To this, the 26-year-old explained that she takes time very seriously and feels stressed when she’s late. She said:

“I’m very punctual, sometimes too much so. I get stressed when I’m late. Time is everything. Every second counts. Time doesn’t add up, and you have to value every moment.”

In the same interview, McLaughlin-Levrone discussed her approach to training, explaining how it goes beyond just running and focuses on different aspects on different days, all contributing to her overall athletic development.

“Every day is a little different. Some days are more about speed, others about speed and endurance, or even long-distance running. Other days are about weights. We try to balance every aspect, including nutrition, recovery, and sleep,” the New Jersey-born athlete reacted.
