Simone Biles Reacts Strongly to Joscelyn Roberson’s Emotional Tribute Celebrating Her Gymnastics Growth

Simone Biles expressed her support towards Joscelyn Roberson's post highlighting the latter's journey in her gymnastics career

Simone Biles dominates the gymnastics mat, but her impact extends far beyond medals and records. Whether cheering on national teammates or guiding the next generation, Biles consistently uplifts those around her. That support recently resurfaced for Joscelyn Roberson, highlighting the bond between the gymnastics legend and the sport’s rising stars.

How Did Simone Biles React to Joscelyn Roberson’s Post?

Biles and Roberson share a history of success, having shared the stage at the 2023 World Championships where they combined to win the team gold medal. Even with Biles taking time away from the national team, Roberson has flourished. The 19-year-old excelled at the 2025 World Championships, securing an individual bronze medal on the vault.

Roberson recently took to Instagram to reflect on her career growth. She focused on her pivotal move to Houston in her early years, where she joined Biles’ World Champions Center. That decision laid the foundation for her development as an elite athlete. Roberson captioned the post, “Change isn’t always bad. So thankful đź’•.”

Biles reacted to the sentiment with a simple, one-word message of endorsement: “period.”

Following her success at the World Championships, Roberson is now preparing for her second collegiate season with the Arkansas Razorbacks. This collegiate journey stands in contrast to Biles’ own path, a topic the Olympic legend recently addressed.

Why Did Biles Reflect on Her Missed College Experience?

Biles broke through early in her career, winning her first individual World Championships gold medal at 16 and her first Olympic gold at 19. While these achievements turned her into a global icon, they left little opportunity for the collegiate experience Roberson now enjoys.

In a recent interview, Biles admitted that her original dreams looked very different. She said, “I never wanted to be the best at gymnastics. I just wanted to go to college, hopefully get a college scholarship, and that was it. Obviously, the cards fell in place, and I got to do way more than my wildest dreams.”

Biles explained that the Olympics weren’t even on her radar growing up. “But even as a young girl, did I want to go to the Olympics? No. Every one of my teammates said that. So I said it. I don’t even know what the Olympics was. I saw it in 2008 on the TV. And I was like, Whoa. How’d they do that? But I didn’t even want to go there,” she added.

The American gymnast noted that the national team eventually inspired her during those early years, drawing her deeper into the sport. While her path diverged from the collegiate route, her support for teammates like Roberson shows she remains deeply connected to every level of the game.
