Sha’Carri Richardson recently backed her boyfriend, Christian Coleman, amid his preparation for the upcoming season. Coleman had recently opened up about preparing for the next season after an average outing this year. Like Richardson, Coleman didn’t fare extremely well for most of the season.
However, Coleman did end the year on a promising note, clinching gold medals at the Diamond League and the World Championships, respectively.
Coleman Reveals His Strategy For Next Reason As Richardson Backs Him
Coleman recently posted a reel of his interview ahead of the upcoming athletic season. During the interview, the 29-year-old sprinter revealed that his focus was less on results and more on building patience and developing the technique to achieve the desired results.
“Even throughout my career, I’ve felt like I’ve been, like, so much stronger and, like, physically just more fit. But that’s how I know it’s just technically wise, it’s just I know I’m right there to go to the next level. So, not trying to compete with the guys out there, but competing with myself. Not feeling like I got to, like, build Rome in a day, but being more patient,” Coleman said.
The sprinter further added, “As I’m getting older, it’s like, bro, it really just does not get easier. You got to put the work in. That’s just one of them things. You gotta put the work in.”
Richardson backed Coleman’s views by sharing his video on her Instagram timeline. She also added a rocket emoji in her Instagram story, indicating her constant support for him.

Richardson struggled to perform in the current season due to recurring injuries. She was also one of the few prominent track and field athletes, alongside Noah Lyles, who didn’t take part in the much-talked-about Grand Slam Track League, which was launched by former Olympic champion Michael Johnson.

Richardson participated in fewer athletic events. She qualified for the World Championships on the basis of her performance in the 2023 edition, and her best performance turned out to be a second-place finish in the women’s 100m at the Brussels leg of the Diamond League.
Richardson finished the year on a promising note when she led the anchor leg for Team USA in the women’s 4x100m relay finals. Richardson sprinted her way to the gold medal as the USA clocked 41.75 seconds.
