Quincy Wilson and Christian Miller expressed their reactions as college athlete Ervin Pearson announces his decision to leave the University of Georgia and enter the transfer portal ahead of the next season. Pearson has competed collegiately for just one year at the University of Georgia and has plenty of eligibility left.

What Do Quincy Wilson and Christian Miller Write Regarding Pearson’s Decision?

As a collegiate athlete, Pearson has some impressive accolades to boast of in his first year for the Georgia Bulldogs. He was a member of the 4x400m relay team that won first place at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Championships and the SEC Championships.

With such an impressive track record, several top programs will likely hope to recruit him for the upcoming seasons.

The former Georgia Bulldogs athlete announced his decision to join the transfer portal via an Instagram post. The post read, “After deep thought, prayer, and conversations with my family, I have decided to enter  the transfer portal on December 1st with 3 years of eligibility remaining.”

Wilson, who himself committed to his college for a few days, commented, “🐢🐢.” 19-year-old pro athlete, Miller, reacted to the post with a clapping emoji, “👏.”

Similar to Pearson, Wilson and Miller are also promising young talents in the current track and field circuit, specializing in the 400m and 100m distances, respectively.

Wilson Reveals Real Reason for Committing To the University of Maryland

Wilson recently discussed his decision to choose the University of Maryland as the institution to represent across his collegiate career, following his heroics at Bullis High School. In a recent conversation, the 2024 Olympics gold medalist revealed that the proximity of the institution to his home is the primary factor behind his decision.

He said, “I chose the University of Maryland, of all the other schools, because it’s close to home. There’s nothing like being close to my family. It feels great to represent your home city because it’s where you get out of bed, it’s where you go to school, it’s where you do everything. So why would you leave if you can do it right here and you can have your family? My mom can cook for me, like I said.”

Wilson’s commitment to the program has also been warmly welcomed by the University’s track and field head coach, Andrew Velmon, who has expressed excitement about working with the 17-year-old.
