What did Nebraska Volleyball head coach Busboom Kelly reveal about Allick?

Busboom Kelly praised Allick’s ability to attack quickly after defensive plays, calling her the best out-of-system setter on the team. In a press conference, she said:

“Bekka might be our best out-of-system setter on the whole team, so, that’s why when she gets a chance she’s like knocking people over because she wants to set the ball.”

Allick recently made history by surpassing Sarah Pavan on Nebraska’s all-time blocks list, entering the top five. She has earned multiple honors during her time with the Huskers, including being named to the AVCA All-Region Team on two occasions. The Nebraska star will be looking to win her first national championship this season.

Nebraska Volleyball’s Andi Jackson makes feelings known on how she’s progressed this season

Allick’s teammate, Andi Jackson, recently discussed how she’s progressed defensively this season. Jackson was recently named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week after her performances against Michigan State and Michigan this past week.

In a press conference ahead of the Huskers’ game against Northwestern, Jackson was asked how she’s progressed defensively: (0:16 onwards)

“This season alone, I feel like a pretty significant amount. A huge kudos to my teammates because they’ve been so patient with me and they’ve been huge help. I mean, I now have a blocking goal at practice, and if I don’t get that goal during practice, then I stay after. And Bekka, Bergen, Kenna, Manaia, Brennan, like, they all stay after with me until I get that blocking goal. So, I’m just super grateful to all of them for their help because I would not have made these strides without them. But yeah, this season especially, I feel like I’ve like blocking wise for sure have made huge strides. Not only like stuff blocks, but just getting more touches.”

Jackson plays as a middle blocker on the Nebraska Volleyball team. She performed impressively last season, earning AVCA All-America First Team honors in her sophomore year.
