Shiffrin’s six-race winning streak was recently broken at the World Cup event held in Kranjska Gora on January 3. While the 30-year-old skier finished outside the podium in the grand slalom event, she managed to finish second in the slalom event, thereby maintaining the first position in the overall standings, as well as the slalom category.

Shiffrin’s Performance at 2025-26 FIS World Cup Overall

Shiffrin had a fantastic season overall in 2025. With the lone exception of the World Championships’ individual slalom race [where she ultimately finished in the fifth position overall], the 30-year-old alpine skier won in almost every event she participated. She won a gold medal in the team combined event at the 2025 World Championships held in Saalbach-Hinterglemm, Austria.

The former Olympic champion began a six-race winning streak with a victory in the penultimate race of the 2024-25 season. Following that, Shiffrin won five FIS World Cup races in a row, including the year-end race at Semmering, Austria.

Shiffrin has won five FIS World Cups in the overall category, with the last title won in 2023. Although she couldn’t win the 2024 edition, she clinched the gold medal in the slalom category. Interestingly, Shiffrin has been winning the slalom category at the World Cup since 2013.

The former Olympic champion is aiming for a strong comeback at the upcoming Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics, which will be held from February 6 onwards. Shiffrin had returned without a medal for the first time in the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, after having clinched two gold medals and a silver medal from the 2014 Sochi Olympics and the 2018 PyeongChang Olympics, respectively.
