100m and 200m world champion Melissa Jefferson-Wooden reacted as Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone features in a promotional advertisement for Oakley Meta AI glasses. Even though Jefferson-Wooden and McLaughlin-Levrone compete in very different events, both athletes have been part of Team USA in competitions such as the 2024 Olympics and the recently concluded World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

Jefferson-Wooden achieved the 100m-200m double in the Tokyo event while McLaughlin-Levrone won the 400m gold medal.

How Did Jefferson-Wooden React to Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone’s Advertisement for Oakley Meta AI Glasses?

In a recent advert for the new Oakley Meta Glasses with AI features, McLaughlin-Levrone was seen in action as one of the new faces of the brand. She has also been seen in several other advertisements for the brand.

In an Instagram post shared by the 400m hurdles Olympic champion, she can be seen swiftly commanding her Oakley Meta glass AI to play music while she is running for the advert, showcasing the product’s new features. The caption of the post read:

“Hey Meta, play my music.” @oakleymeta Vanguard – Performance AI glasses with built-in speakers.”

Jefferson-Wooden reacted to the post and dropped a 2-word message to express her excitement for the advert. She wrote:

“That’s fire 🔥🔥🔥”

As per reports, the new Oakley glasses with AI features were launched in the market on Oct. 21.

What Did McLaughlin-Levrone Say Regarding Her Next Goal on the Track?

McLaughlin-Levrone recently shed light on her next target in the upcoming years of her track career. An already established athlete over the 400m hurdles, McLaughlin-Levrone has also transcended her abilities in the 400m dash.

In an interview with Vanity Fair, the 26-year-old revealed that her immediate goal on the track includes running a 400m hurdles in 49 seconds and grabbing the 400m world record. Additionally, she also mentioned that for these goals she will have to put in a lot of effort and practice. She said:

“There’s still a lot to do. I’d like to run 49 seconds in the 400-meter hurdles and set my sights on the world record in the 400-meter dash. The time will come to make decisions, but there’s certainly a lot to work on.”

Notably, with a run time of 47.78 seconds, McLaughlin-Levrone is already the fastest American and the second fastest of all time in the world. She is just 0.18 seconds behind world record holder Marita Koch, whose run time stands at 47.60.
