Just when the world thought Lindsey Vonn’s legendary career was over, she staged a stunning comeback. After retiring in 2019 due to a series of injuries, few expected her to return, let alone compete at an elite level.
Now, fresh off a podium finish at 41 years old, she is not just aiming for one last Olympic run, she’s also building a business empire off the slopes.
What Is Driving Lindsey Vonn’s Surprising Comeback and New Brand?
Vonn, who was widely considered one of the most decorated alpine skiers in history, announced her retirement in 2019. However, following a partial knee replacement surgery, she made an unexpected return to the sport in 2024. Her comeback season was nothing short of remarkable, culminating in a podium finish at the 2024-25 World Cup Finals in Sun Valley, Idaho.
Beyond her incredible return to the snow, Vonn is launching her own personal clothing line. The brand, created in partnership with sportswear company HEAD, marks a significant step in her entrepreneurial journey.
In a post on Instagram, she announced, “Proud to present: VONN. Powered by HEAD. 🖤🙏🏻 ➡️ @thevonncollective ⬅️ I have had my own collection with HEAD for a while now, but the long-term goal has always been to create a brand with its own unique identity. VONN is the natural evolution. High-performance sportswear meets luxury lifestyle, truly blending the worlds of my two great loves – skiing and fashion. So excited to share this with you all. Follow the page for more updates dropping soon. 🔜 👀”
Her partnership with HEAD dates back to 2009, following her switch from her initial sponsor, the French manufacturer Rossignol. While she often wore HEAD gear during races, this new brand signifies a deeper collaboration. Vonn’s business interests extend further, as she is also an investor in the professional sports team Angel City FC and collaborates with Athena Capital. This firm supports women in business. Her recent cover on TIME Magazine highlights these entrepreneurial efforts.

The American has already stated this will be her final Olympic appearance, where she hopes to add to her overall medal tally of three at the Games. Despite being in the twilight of her career once again, she feels more prepared than ever.
According to NBC Sports, Vonn shared, “That experience is a lot. You know, I may not physically be as spry as these youngsters, but I’m still in really good shape. I think, honestly, this is some of the best shape I’ve ever been in.”
To support this, Vonn has dedicated November to intense training at Copper Mountain, Colorado, with a focus on achieving peak fitness. Her determination is aimed at securing a spot on the U.S. team for the upcoming Games. The next step in that journey is her season debut at the World Cup race in St. Moritz, Switzerland, scheduled from December 12 to 14.
