Lexi Rodriguez Reacts to Laura Dijkema’s Emotional Message After LOVB Nebraska Exit

Lexi Rodriguez responded to a heartfelt message shared by Laura Dijkema following LOVB Nebraska’s exit from the playoff race. Her reaction quickly drew attention as fans and teammates looked closely at the exchange between two key voices in the team.

Dijkema’s words reflected the emotions around a season that did not end as hoped, while Rodriguez’s response added another layer to that moment.

What Lexi Rodriguez Said After LOVB Nebraska’s Playoff Exit

LOVB Nebraska fell short in a tight five-set battle against LOVB Austin, losing 3-2 in a match that went down to the wire. The set scores were 25-22, 24-26, 19-25, 25-22, and 10-15, with Austin edging the final set.

It was a back-and-forth contest throughout, with both teams trading momentum before Austin took control at the end. The loss proved costly, as it ended Nebraska’s playoff hopes. After the match, Dijkema penned an emotional note.

Dijkema took to Instagram shortly after LOVB Nebraska’s playoff hopes slipped away, sharing a message that reflected the mood inside the team. It came after a season that saw strong moments but ended in disappointment.

She pointed to how close the standings were and how small margins made the difference. Despite a late push and solid results, the outcome did not go their way, setting the stage for her honest and emotional words.

“Sad. Frustrated. And it doesn’t feel finished… đź’” By the European points system (where you earn 3 points for winning in 3 or 4 sets and at least 1 point for pushing a match to five) we would’ve been 3rd in regular season. Same number of wins as Salt Lake and Austin, a better set ratio, 7 wins in our last 10… and still no playoffs because of the three-way tie system,” she wrote.
Dijkema continued her message by reflecting on the team’s journey through the season. She spoke about missed chances but also how the group kept improving in a league where every match felt close.
The Dutch volleyball player also mentioned Jordan Larson, expressing her wish to give her the ending she deserved. Along with that, she shared how much the team meant to her, making the moment even more emotional.
“At the end of the day, we can only blame ourselves for not winning more matches. But that’s also the beauty of sport: a team that grows throughout the season, a league that is incredibly competitive and a level where everything is so close. I wish we could’ve given Jordan the ending she deserved. I just love this team and will miss every second together,” she concluded.

LOVB Austin moved ahead after their win, securing a spot in the next stage along with the other top teams from the standings. The LOVB Playoffs will take place from April 10 to 12, with the top four teams battling for a place in the championship.

The winners from those matchups will then move on to the LOVB Championship, scheduled for April 16 and 18, where the season will come to a close.
