Nebraska Volleyball’s Laney Choboy Makes All-Big Ten, Gets 2-Word Reaction From Boyfriend Jeremiah Charles

Husker football player Jeremiah Charles celebrated his girlfriend and Nebraska Volleyball standout Laney Choboy’s All-Big Ten Second Team honor.

Laney Choboy was one of the Nebraska Volleyball standouts recognized with Big Ten honors after helping the Huskers complete a perfect 30-0 regular season. The junior libero’s impact didn’t go unnoticed as she earned a spot on the All-Big Ten Second Team.

The honor even impressed her boyfriend, Nebraska football player Jeremiah Charles, who celebrated the achievement by sharing his reaction.

What Was Jeremiah Charles’ Message After Nebraska Volleyball’s Choboy’s Big Ten Recognition?

Charles couldn’t hide his excitement as Choboy picked up the prestigious honor, capping off a regular season in which she delivered a personal-best 20 digs against Illinois. That performance also helped her earn the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Week award on November 10.

Via an Instagram story, the Nebraska Football defensive back hyped up his girlfriend with a heartfelt tribute following the honor, writing, “hell yuh!!!! @laneychoboy.”

But Nebraska’s awards didn’t stop there. Bergen Reilly headlined the list as she captured her third straight Big Ten Setter of the Year title, along with the prestigious Big Ten Player of the Year honor. Reilly was joined on the All-Big Ten First Team by Harper Murray, Rebekah Allick, and Andi Jackson.

Choboy Praises Coach Dani Busboom Kelly’s Approach to Keeping Nebraska Mentally Locked In

Although Nebraska has since concluded its regular season, Choboy’s comments before its conclusion offered a clear picture of how the Huskers have stayed mentally sharp. Commenting on the late-season grind, she credited both Coach Dani Busboom Kelly’s approach and the team’s strong chemistry for keeping everyone energized. After the sweep over Illinois, the junior said:

“I think just being at this part of the season for the third time now, it’s really easy to drop off because it gets monotonous and you can get tired of doing the same things over and over again. But Dani does a really good job, and our team chemistry is so strong. It makes it fun to come in every single day.”

“For me, this is my third year doing this, and I haven’t felt tired of coming in the gym. I’m not thinking, ‘I don’t want to go to practice. I’m tired. ‘ I want to sleep,’ she added.

Choboy added that none of those feelings apply to her as she still looks forward to practice, thrives around her teammates, and isn’t close to wanting the season to end. The Huskers are pushing for the 2025 NCAA title, with postseason events now ahead, following their heartbreaking 3-0 loss to Texas in the 2023 final. Their dominance this season suggests they’re well within reach.
