Nebraska volleyball’s freshman class is already looking ahead, and one young middle blocker just made her intentions clear. After spending the season developing behind the scenes, Kenna Cogill reflected on her redshirt year in a social media post that hinted at what’s next in Lincoln. With the 2025 season in the books, Cogill followed up by officially confirming her status for the upcoming year, delivering an enthusiastic update for Husker Nation.
Nebraska Volleyball Player Kenna Cogill Excited For Next Year
Cogill shared some glimpses from the recently concluded season on her Instagram account. The freshman middle blocker wrote in the caption of her Instagram post,
“So blessed for my redshirt season ❤️ thank you so much @huskervb see you next year!!”
Former as well as current Nebraska Volleyball players cheered Cogill for her decision in the comments section. Maisie Boesiger immediately responded by writing down,
“YAY! Love you.”
Bergen Reilly, one of the three co-skippers for the 2025 season, also added her reaction as she posted: “So proud of you.”
Fellow freshman Keri Leimbach also shared her excitement as she commented, “Yesssss…Bestieeeee”

Nebraska Volleyball Freshman Cogill’s Profile
Cogill joined the Nebraska team as a middle blocker in the current season. She was a part of the Huskers’ squad that clinched the Big Ten Conference title for the third consecutive time since 2023.
Though Cogill didn’t play at the NCAA Championships, she was a redshirt member of the squad. The Nebraska Volleyball team proceeded to the quarterfinals of the 2025 NCAA Championships, where they eventually went down 2-3 to the Texas A&M Aggies. The Aggies, like the Penn State Nittany Lions, went on to win the NCAA Championships, defeating the Kentucky Wildcats in the national championship game.
As a high school volleyball player, Cogill generated some impressive stats. She averaged a total of 778 kills, with a strike rate of 2.5 kills per set and an outstanding hitting percentage of 0.443 as a representative for the Perry High Pumas. Cogill also generated an impressive 396 blocks for the Perry Pumas.
She played club volleyball for the Arizona Storm team, where she met her teammate, and Nebraska player, Teraya Sigler. As a player for the Arizona Storm, Cogill won back-to-back Open National Championships. Cogill also earned the Arizona Republic’s All-Arizona honors for the years 2023 and 2024.
