Josh Kerr recently won everyone’s hearts with a special gesture at the recently concluded Millrose Games. Kerr represents Great Britain in the men’s 1500m at various track and field events.

Kerr finished in the men’s 2-mile event at the 2026 Millrose Games. For the uninitiated, Millrose Games is a prestigious indoor track and field event held annually in New York City.

Josh Kerr Surprises Young Kid With Present After Millrose Games Win

Kerr put up a sensational performance in the Men’s 2 Mile Final at the recently concluded 2026 Millrose Games. The Scottish origin runner was outpaced by Olympic champion Cole Hocker in the 2-mile event, where he finished second overall with a time of 8:07.68, which was 0.37 seconds behind the winning time clocked by Hocker (8:07.31). Meanwhile, Parker Woolfe finished third with a time of 8:07.83.

Although Kerr fell short of the victory in the 2 Mile event, he found himself in the limelight for his sweet gesture towards a young kid.

In a clip posted by Millrose Games on Instagram, the 28-year-old was seen handing his sunglasses to a young kid, who jumped for joy after receiving the present from Kerr.

Kerr rose through the ranks after clinching bronze in the men’s 1500m at the Tokyo Olympics, the same event that saw Norwegian runner Jakob Ingebrigtsen clinch gold with a new Olympic record (3:28.32).

Kerr slowly rose through the ranks as a prominent middle-distance runner. He won the gold medal at the 2023 World Championships held in Budapest, Hungary. He improved his position at the 2024 World Indoor Championships, becoming one of the rare few athletes to win gold medals in both versions of the World Championships.

The 28-year-old middle-distance runner missed out on a historic Olympic gold medal by a whisker as he finished second (behind Cole Hocker) in the men’s 1500m finals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

However, Kerr was not able to maintain the same momentum in the 2025 season. He began the season on a promising note when he participated in the Grand Slam Track League, a tournament conceptualized by former sprinting legend Michael Johnson.

Kerr claimed victory in the 1500m, but this momentum did not carry over to the 2025 World Championships in Tokyo, where he finished 14th overall in 4:11.23.

Despite the setback, the athlete is far from disappointed and has made it clear that he won’t give up and will fight back for what is rightfully his.
