Jordan Chiles Doesn’t Hold Back as LSU Gymnast Overtakes Her To Take Top Spot in All Around Rankings

Jordan Chiles sends out a message to LSU's Kailin Chio who overtook the Olympian gymnast in all around rankings this year.

Jordan Chiles recently cheered for gymnast Kailin Chio, as the LSU gymnast overtook Chiles in the all-around rankings. Chio has represented the LSU Tigers since the 2025 season and was part of the team that won the SEC Championship last year.

According to the latest reports, Chio scored a total NQS (National Qualifying Score) of 39.725, slightly higher than the NQS of the 24-year-old Chiles, who scored a total of 39.710 in this season. This ended Chiles’ eight-week reign as the highest-ranked all-around gymnast in college gymnastics this season.

However, in a sign of true sportsmanship, Chiles, who represents the UCLA Bruins, shared the rankings on her Instagram story and congratulated Chio for her achievement, as she wrote in the caption,

“Couldn’t be more proud! Well deserved!”

This is not all. The 19-year-old has also overtaken Chiles in terms of scoring Perfect 10s overall. Chio has scored the Perfect 10 in gymnastics a record six times, while Chiles has accomplished it five times.

Chiles continues to be the top-ranked gymnast in the floor exercise category, while Chio is also the top-ranked gymnast in the vault and the balance beam category.

Chio had signed the contract with the LSU Tigers way back in the year 2022. However, recurring injuries forced her to delay her college debut until the 2025 season. The 19-year-old contributed to the LSU Tigers’ victory at the SEC Championships, while she won an individual silver medal in the women’s floor exercise.

Though the Tigers couldn’t defend their 2024 NCAA title, Chio made up for it with an individual gold medal in the women’s vault event.

Meanwhile, Chiles is aiming to create history for the UCLA Bruins in her final season as a college gymnast. The Olympic champion had led the Bruins team to a historic finals in the NCAA Championships, though they missed the title by a whisker.

Despite the loss, the Bruins won their maiden Big Ten Conference title and are well on the course to win a second consecutive Big Ten title, having topped the regular season as of now.

The Big Ten Championship finals will be held on March 20 & 21, while the NCAA Championships will be held on April 16 & 18.
