Izzy Starck has decided to apply for transfer. The former Penn State Volleyball setter decided to exit the Nittany Lions team after an unimpressive season this year.
Starck had joined the Nittany Lions the same year they won an NCAA title after a decade, i.e., in 2024.
The setter had announced a mental break after the Nittany Lions got eliminated at the hands of the Texas Longhorns in the second round of the recently concluded 2025 NCAA Championships.
Izzy Starck Announces Her New Team After Penn State Volleyball Exit
Starck recently announced her new team following her exit from the Penn State Volleyball team. The sophomore will now be representing the Pittsburgh Panthers from the next season onwards.
Starck captioned her Instagram post as,
“H2P”
Olivia Babcock, who currently represents the Panthers, congratulated her on joining the team and expressed hope for an exciting partnership, as she did in the comments section.
The Panthers qualified for their fifth consecutive semifinals this season. They lost to the eventual champions, the Texas A&M Aggies, who defeated them in straight sets by 3-0.
Izzy Starck’s Performance for Penn State Volleyball
Starck had joined the Penn State Nittany Lions in the 2024 season. She was a part of the team that jointly shared the Big Ten Conference title with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, who had won it for the second consecutive time since 2023.
Starck also represented the team in the 2024 NCAA Championships. She was instrumental in knocking out the Huskers from contending for a second consecutive final, as the Nittany Lions won the semifinals by a 3-2 score. Starck also helped the Nittany Lions overcome the challenge from the Louisville Cardinals as the Nittany Lions won their first NCAA title after exactly a decade.
Unfortunately, despite her best efforts, the Nittany Lions couldn’t repeat the performance in the next season. They finished seventh with an overall record of 12-8, while they were eliminated in the second round by the Texas Longhorns, who had won the 2023 NCAA Championships.
In the short but impactful career with the Nittany Lions, Starck shone on both fronts. While she didn’t exactly score in the kill department, Starck generated a career total of 1653 assists, with a total of 10.875 assists per set.
However, that was not all. Starck generated a total attacking percentage of 0.258, which is certainly not bad for a start. She also generated a decent total of 392 digs, with a strike rate of 2.579 digs per set.
