Nebraska Volleyball’s Harper Murray shared honest reactions to her team’s undefeated streak, emphasizing that they don’t need to be driven by it. The Huskers recorded a 32-0 overall record and a 20-0 mark in the Big Ten, even winning the Conference title for the third straight time.
The Huskers ended their regular season with a clean sweep over Ohio State and entered the NCAA Tournament as the top-seeded, having already ousted LIU and K-State in the first two rounds. They are now heading to play Kansas in the NCAA Regional Semifinals on December 12, 2025.
Nebraska Volleyball’s Harper Murray Shares Feelings About Huskers’ Undefeated Record
Murray has been nothing short of phenomenal in her junior season, ranking among Nebraska’s top offensive leaders. Her kills, aces, and digs contributed hugely to her team’s dominant 2025 season.
Now, as the outside hitter heads to the Regional Semifinals, she acknowledged the Huskers’ win streak as a reflection of their hard work, but noted that the streak doesn’t define the team, as there is much more depth to them.
Murray said, “I mean, that’s awesome. I think we’ve earned it, and we’re obviously undefeated for a reason. We’ve put the work in, but I think as a team we don’t want to focus on that because there’s a lot more to it than that, and that doesn’t have to define our team.”
Murray earned Big Ten Player of the Week honors this season and surpassed 1,000 career kills, a significant milestone in her collegiate volleyball career.
At last year’s Regional Semifinals, Nebraska volleyball faced Dayton at its home arena and defeated them 3–1. Although there were some offensive inconsistencies, Murray shone through with a career-high 22 kills, along with 16 digs and four aces, and four blocks.
Nebraska Volleyball’s Murray Reveals That Defeating Them on Home Ground is Nearly Impossible
Nebraska volleyball had nothing but the best up its sleeves this season, recording 16 clean sweeps at its home arena, the Bob Devaney Sports Center. The electric crowd, the familiarity, and the confidence that come with playing at home make the Huskers nearly invincible.
Speaking in a post-match media interaction, outside hitter Murray said they gain a massive advantage when playing at home and that defeating them is nearly impossible, regardless of how strong the opponent is.
Murray, who has also been a prominent student-athlete in the NIL domain, signed with major brand Adidas this season. She recently surprised her teammates with company gifts, ushering in the holiday season ahead of the Regional Semifinals.
