Chloe Kim Explains Absence From Social Media
The soon-to-be 26-year-old snowboarder recently explained her absence from social media in a concise note on her Instagram account. She wrote in her recent Instagram story:
“Hello hello! Happy Friday! I unfortunately had to turn off my DMs due to people taking things too far. I’ve seen too many fake and very disturbing images/videos and I need to protect myself. Hopefully with some time we’ll be back! I really do enjoy connecting with you all ! Much love.”

Kim had previously explained on her Instagram account that she fought multiple battles at once during her competition at the Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics. The snowboarder had somehow recovered from a shoulder injury to participate in the quadrennial event. The 25-year-old explained in her descriptive Instagram post:
“A month ago, I wasn’t even sure if I’d be able to compete. I was in the darkest space mentally and felt so much fear coming back. To land my run in my first final of the season was the most rewarding and validating thing I’ve ever experienced.”

Your strength and mental fortitude is beyond inspirational. I’m excited to watch you continue to shine like I always knew you would.”
The snowboarder also added that this silver medal meant a lot to her. She wrote,
“This medal means so much to me, and according to my color analysis, white metals make me look brightest! Thank you all so much for your continuous support. This has been such a fun journey.”
Kim had made her Olympic debut with a gold medal at the 2018 PyeongChang Winter Olympics. Although she didn’t exactly break Shaun White’s Olympic record, she did surpass him with three consecutive Olympic medals from three attempts [including two gold medals from the 2018 and 2022 editions].
