Cayden Henschel is headed to the biggest clash of his life at the 2026 RAF 5, set to face a standout wrestler, Bo Bassett. The latter has established himself as one of the most successful wrestlers in the US, boasting an undefeated high school record.

What Did Bo Bassett’s Opponent Cayden Henschel Say About Their Upcoming Match?

Bassett is currently in Real American Freestyle, signed to the Featherweight division. He made his debut at the RAF 03, becoming one of the youngest competitors to take the mat.

Henschel, who competed collegiately for the University of Wisconsin–Parkside, has been a sensation both on the mat and on social media through his content creation. He is set to clash with Bassett at RAF 05 on January 10, 2026, and the much-anticipated matchup will be the biggest match of his life, as shared by Henschel on Instagram.

He captioned, “It’s going down! The biggest match of my life… @rafwrestlingusa 05. @caydenhenschel vs @bo.bassett.”

He also credited Crosby Schlosser for the video montage, featuring Bassett and Henschel’s individual winning moments in their careers.

Bassett was signed with the Iowa Hawkeyes wrestling team earlier in February 2025, but backed out to join the Virginia Tech Hokies, starting the upcoming season. The teenage sensation has an undefeated record of 126–0 in folkstyle wrestling during his time at Bishop McCort High School. He was even in contention at the US Team Trials in freestyle, ousting Beau Bartlett in the quarterfinals, but succumbed to Brock Hardy in the semifinals.

Bassett Capped His Folkstyle Season With Fourth Ironman Title

Bassett, a four-time Super 32 Tournament winner and a two-time PIAA Class AA state champion, capped his season by claiming his fourth Ironman title. He defeated Joe Bachmann of Faith Christian Academy by a 14–6 major decision in the 150-pound division. Reflecting on his victory and dominant season, the 19-year-old took pride in his hard work and countless reps, all supported by his family and faith.

He also noted that all his efforts were directed toward God and expressed his desire to return even stronger next season.

At the 2025 Junior Pan American Games, he won a gold medal in freestyle, adding to the bronze medal at the U20 World Wrestling Championships and gold at the U20 Pan American Wrestling Championships in 2024.
