Bo Nickal Calls Out Abdulrashid Sadulaev, Eyes Showdown With Wrestling’s Best, Carter Starocci and Others React

Bo Nickal is in no mood for mercy. The UFC fighter wants former Olympic champion from Russia, Abdulrashid Sadulaev, to face him in a one-on-one fight.

Nickal is a junior world champion wrestler turned UFC fighter. The three-time NCAA champion competes in the middleweight category of the UFC Championships.

Bo Nickal Invites Abdulrashid Sadulaev for Duel As Carter Starocci and Other Wrestlers React

Nickal recently posted a photo of himself with Sadulaev on Instagram, inviting the Olympic champion wrestler to a duel. The UFC fighter wrote in the caption of his Instagram post,

“It would be my honor to compete against one of the best of all time. A match-up everyone would want to see. I am ready, let’s do it. @sadulaev_abdulrashid.”

For the uninitiated, Abdulrashid Sadulaev is a two-time Olympic champion wrestler who represents Russia in the heavyweight category [97 kg]. Sadulaev has also won the 2024 World Championships, though he represented the UWW because Russia was banned from participating in most sports by the IOC following the 2022 Ukraine crisis.

Several celebrities reacted to this proposition. Former NCAA champion and Penn State wrestler Carter Starocci wrote in the comments section,

“Noooo”

Another wrestler, Giancarlo Bodoni, was excited for the duel as he mentioned,

“Amazing match up🔥 2 legends.”

Olympic medalist Kyle Dake immediately signed up for the prospect as he added,

“LETS GOOOOOO!”

Another Olympian, Darian Toi Cruz, dropped the following three-word reaction in the comments section,

“Let’s get it!”

Bo Nickal was a well-known figure in international wrestling before officially transitioning to the UFC. He won a silver medal in the 2016 NCAA Championships before going on to win three individual NCAA Championship gold medals for the Penn State Nittany Lions from 2017 to 2019.

In 2019, Nickal also won the gold medal at the US National Championships and the U23 World Championships. He aimed to represent the US wrestling squad at the Tokyo Olympics.

However, he lost out to David Taylor, who went on to win the Olympic gold medal in the men’s 86kg. category. It was only after this loss that Nickal officially switched to a career in MMA. Nickal made his UFC debut against David Pickett in March 2023, after being forced to withdraw from a previous bout due to injury.
