‘My Brothers Went to War’ — Bo Bassett Opens Up on Victory Against Wyoming School in High School Wrestling With Brother Keegan

Wrestling sensation Bo Bassett shared his thoughts on victory against the Wyoming School in high school wrestling alongside his brother Keegan.

Bo Bassett is on cloud nine. The high school wrestling sensation is currently in his final season as a wrestler for Bishop McCort High School. Bassett recently participated in a wrestling duel for his alma mater against the Wyoming Seminary. The McCort High School won the duel by a close margin of 28-27 on Thursday.

Bo Bassett Reacts To High School Victory Over Wyoming

Bassett recently chatted with journalist Shane Sparks after the victory, whose excerpt was recently published on Instagram. When asked about the nail-biting win, Bassett replied,

“Grateful, honored, all. Glory to God. My brothers went to war tonight, and it’s a blessing to be on a team with all these guys. Keegan getting the pin, Melvin getting the tech. Shout out to both my brothers, but I’ve got 11 other brothers on the team amongst them, so the entire team did a great job.”

Bassett had previously expressed his thoughts about the senior high school season. He wrote in the caption of his Instagram post,

“Full Relentless Pursuit‼️‼️Senior SZN, Coming for it all!!! Living in the moment, working extremely hard, Trusting God. Walking in purpose. #ThisIsHome #MachineGunMindset #Sprint”

Bassett, his younger brother Keegan, Melvin Miller, Jax Forrest, and Jackson Butler are among the greatest junior wrestlers to come out of Bishop McCort High School. Forrest has officially joined the Oklahoma State Cowboys for the current wrestling season and hopes to make the Cowboys proud at the 2026 NCAA Championships.

On the other hand, Bassett had initially announced his commitment to the Iowa Hawkeyes, one of the most successful teams in the history of the NCAA Wrestling Championships, which finished fourth overall last year.

However, he eventually chose the Virginia Tech Hokies for his collegiate career, joining them from mid-2026 for the 2027 NCAA season.

“Officially a Hokie. Time to Work.🦃I am Committing to Virginia Tech!!! The next chapter begins in Hokie Nation!! I can’t wait to chase down National, World, and Olympic Titles in Blacksburg. #MachineGunMindset Matthew 19:26,” Bassett had posted on his social media handle.

Bassett had a mixed bag in the 2025 season. The teenage wrestler won his fourth Ironman wrestling title, apart from a gold medal in the Grand Prix tournament and the Junior Pan American Games.

However, not every tournament was a cakewalk for the former junior world champion, as Bassett failed to qualify for either the senior World Championships or even the U23 World Championships. He had last won a bronze medal in the 2024 U20 World Wrestling Championships.
