Nebraska Volleyball’s Bergen Reilly capped off a standout 2025 season with a series of major accolades, including Big Ten Player of the Year and AVCA Setter of the Year honors. The junior averaged 10.47 assists per set and recorded 73 kills, playing a central role in guiding the Cornhuskers to a perfect 30-0 regular season.
Nebraska’s title run ultimately ended with a narrow 3-2 loss to Texas A&M in the NCAA Regional Final, with the Aggies later going on to win the national championship. Reilly continued to compete through illness during the latter stages of the NCAA tournament, showing her immense commitment to the team.
Merritt Beason and Cale Jacobsen React to Bergen Reilly’s Note About Nebraska Volleyball and Her Season
Following the conclusion of the season, the three-time Big Ten Setter of the Year winner shared a brief but heartfelt Instagram post reflecting on her time with the Huskers, writing, “this season w these people ❤️🩹❤️🩹.” The post drew playful reactions from her boyfriend, Cale Jacobsen, and former Nebraska teammate Merritt Beason, sparking a friendly exchange in the comments.
Beason, who played alongside Reilly for two seasons before moving on to pro volleyball, showed her admiration by commenting, “President of Bergen fan club.” Jacobsen, who is a member of Nebraska’s men’s basketball team, quickly joined in, replying, “I’d like to have a word…”

While Beason and Reilly have remained close since the current Omaha Supernovas player’s graduation, Reilly and Jacobsen earlier celebrated two years of their relationship.
Following the NCAA tournament, Reilly attended the AVCA Awards Banquet, where she received the Setter of the Year honor and drew attention in a red gown.
Reilly After Being Named AVCA Setter of the Year 2025
Speaking after the ceremony at the Kansas City Convention Center, Reilly emphasized the collective nature of the award, crediting her teammates and support staff for her success.
“It’s so cool and it’s such an honor, but we always talk about like these individual awards really are team awards. I’m just so thankful that I have such a great team and support staff around me to help me get here,” she said.
She added, “Especially as a setter, you need some great passers and hitters around you. So, just so thankful for this team and just getting to do it and have so much fun doing it together.”
Nebraska was well represented at the ceremony, with Andi Jackson and Harper Murray joining Reilly on the AVCA All-American First Team, who were also present at the occasion. Rebekah Allick, who played her final collegiate match in the NCAA Regional Final, earned Second Team All-American honors.
