Alysa Liu’s Gold Medal Moment Sparks Laughter on Fallon Show
During Tuesday’s broadcast of “The Tonight Show”, Liu joined Fallon for his opening monologue with her two gold medals from the 2026 Winter Olympics, leaving the host surprised. She received a loud standing ovation from the live crowd.
The two then had a hilarious exchange, with Fallon jokingly asking if Liu would give him one of her gold medals. But the figure skater responded by saying that she had “something even better” for him. Liu then gave Fallon a wig in the style of her halo-striped hair and put it on his hair.

This was Liu’s third appearance on “The Tonight Show”. She was also a guest on Fallon’s show in December 2025, in the lead-up to the U.S. National Figure Skating Championships and the 2026 Winter Olympics.
What Next for Liu After Stunning Olympic Triumph
Liu’s remarkable run at the 2026 Winter Olympics helped her make history, becoming the first American woman to win a figure skating event at the Olympics since Sarah Hughes in 2002. She also became the first American female figure skater to win two gold medals at a single Olympic Games.
Following this remarkable triumph, Liu will turn her attentions to the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships. Scheduled to take place in Prague, Czech Republic, from March 24 to 29, the event will feature the world’s best athletes competing for one of the sport’s most prestigious titles.
Liu is the reigning women’s singles world champion, having won gold at the 2025 edition of the event in Boston. But she is all set to face tough competition as she looks to successfully defend her crown in Prague.
Compatriots Amber Glenn and Isabeau Levito will join Liu in representing Team USA at the 2026 World Figure Skating Championships. The men’s event will be headlined by Ilia Malinin, with Madison Chock and Evan Bates set to resume their partnership in the ice dance.
