Alysa Liu Reacts to Teammate and Rival Isabeau Levito’s Post-Nationals Reflection

After qualifying for the Milan Olympics, figure skating sensation Isabeau Levito shared her appreciation for Amber Glenn and Alysa Liu.

With the 2026 U.S. Figure Skating Championships wrapped up and Alysa Liu dazzling the crowd, the stage is now set for the nation’s top three skaters heading to the Milan Olympics. Liu, Amber Glenn, and Isabeau Levito will each chase their first Olympic medals in the women’s singles event, set to unfold from Feb. 6 to 19.

It was Glenn who grabbed the national title with 233.55 total points, while Liu finished in second with 228.91, and Levito third with 224.45. Liu finished second in the short program and posted a strong performance in the free skate.

Alysa Liu Sends a Message To Isabeau Levito

Liu first made her breakthrough in 2019 at the age of 13, when she became the youngest U.S. women’s national figure skating champion in history, becoming one of the nation’s most exciting prospects. She would go on to earn several accolades, including a World Championship gold medal and the 2025–26 Grand Prix Final title.

Levito, quickly rising among the nation’s elite skaters, celebrated on Instagram by posting photos with Glenn and Liu. Liu responded to the heartfelt post with a comment: “awwwww so cute,”

Liu on Her Performance at Nationals

Though the national title slipped just out of reach, Liu can take pride in her performance. With two U.S. Championships already under her belt from 2019 and 2020, she now sets her sights on delivering that same brilliance in Milan.

In an interview with Olympics.com, Liu spoke about her performance at the nationals, saying:

“I feel over the moon right now. I’m so happy with that short program, I would say that’s my favourite short program I’ve done and performed for an audience.”

Liu went on to praise both Levito and Glenn, putting to rest any speculation about rivalry or tension among the trio.

“I like watching them skate, so I’m gonna watch them because… I view us all as independent artists. What we do doesn’t necessarily affect someone in a good way or a bad way. It shouldn’t affect anyone. We came here to perform and show what we’re capable of, to entertain people,” she said.

During the conversation, Liu described herself as a visual learner and called the chance to compete against Levito and Glenn a rare opportunity. She noted that few skaters match her level, making these matchups especially valuable for her growth.
