LSU alumna Aleah Finnegan recently attended the 2025 Junior World Gymnastics Championships, held in her home nation, the Philippines, from November 20 to 24. The 22-year-old was seen exploring a different role outside of her usual endeavors as a gymnast on the mat.
This appearance comes just months after the Philippine gymnast concluded her collegiate career at LSU. She was highly successful during her collegiate season with the LSU Tigers, winning the team title as part of the team exercises in 2024. Notably, she won the individual floor exercises title in the same year, too, solidifying her reputation as one of the prominent names in the field.

Following her stint with the LSU Tigers, Finnegan has also been active in the elite circuit, featuring in the Senior World Gymnastics Championships for the Philippines, where she finished 33rd in the all-around event. However, the 22-year-old was seen in a media role at the Junior World Gymnastics Championships.
Finnegan shared a post on her Instagram account, where she can be seen interviewing a junior gymnast. “Different side of the mic this weekend,” she wrote further in her stories.

Junior Asian Championships vault gold medalist, Eldrew Yulo, will represent the Philippines team at the Junior World Gymnastics Championships. Other gymnasts on her team include John Anthony Palles, Hillarion Palles III, King CJay Pernia, Elisabeth Antone, and Maxine Bondoc.
Finnegan Shared an Inspiring Message As She Addressed the Gymnastics Culture in the Philippines
Finnegan is one of the most decorated Philippine gymnasts of her generation, with accolades for her national team in top competitions, including the Asian Championships and the Southeast Asian Games. With such a high stature in the circuit, Finnegan has recently expressed her desire for the evolution of gymnastics culture to evolve for her country in the coming years.

She said, “I really hope that we can just continue the awareness of Philippine gymnastics. There’s so many talented athletes, and there’s so many more too that I know would are just pushing to be able to get to this World stage, too. So, we just hope that they know that we’re supporting them, and I really hope that we can continue to inspire them to chase their dreams.”
Further in the conversation, Finnegan added that the World Championships carried an emotional weight for her, as her grandmother had passed just a few days before the competition.
