Long story short, skiers like Lindsey Vonn will be seen in action first, followed by skiers like Mikaela Shiffrin. Vonn has refused to quit despite suffering an ACL injury only a week before the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics, given that this is her fifth attempt at Olympic glory since the 2002 edition. Vonn is also one of the oldest female skiers to compete in the Winter Olympics, having returned to the circuit at 40.

On the other hand, Mikaela Shiffrin aims to restore her lost legacy after returning empty-handed from her previous outing at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics. While the journey to another Olympic gold medal won’t be a cakewalk, the former Olympic champion is also not the one to give up easily. Shiffrin is currently in top form and has already won the slalom category at the FIS World Cup in the run-up to the Winter Olympics.

Where Can You Watch The Winter Olympics?

Most of the Winter Olympics events, including alpine skiing, will be broadcast on NBC and USA Network. The livestreaming of most events shall take place on the Peacock and the NBC Olympics platforms from Feb. 6 onwards. People can also download apps like NBC, NBC Sports, and Peacock for the same.

With the schedule now confirmed, the narrative arc for the American superstars is set. The opening week in Italy will be defined by Vonn’s high-stakes battle against her injury in the speed events (Downhill and Super G), setting the stage for Shiffrin to chase her redemption in the technical disciplines (Giant Slalom and Slalom) during the second half of the Games.

As the action unfolds across the iconic Dolomites, fans tuning in via NBC and Peacock will witness a rare generational crossover, watching the two most dominant figures in U.S. ski history fight for legacy on the same snow.
