Love and elite sports rarely intersect, but for Olympic snowboarder Chloe Kim, a recent romantic gesture cut through the intensity of competition. Her boyfriend, Myles Garrett, the star defensive end for the Cleveland Browns, wrote and recited a heartfelt poem that made her cry, as revealed by the two-time Olympic champion.

Garrett shared poetry he wrote for Kim in a Sports Illustrated video, and the moment was touching. His words showed a side of one of football’s strongest defensive players that people rarely see, leaving the Olympic medalist clearly emotional behind the scenes.

Olympian Chloe Kim Moved to Tears by Boyfriend Myles Garrett’s Poem

In the video, Garrett shared a segment of her poem for Kim. “You enrapture fools to kings, and exist without a peer, put on this earth for many things, but our love is why you’re here,” Garrett said.

The two-time gold medalist in the women’s halfpipe was not on camera during the Reigning Defensive Player of the Year’s reading but immediately responded, “It’s sweet, it’s so sweet, I cried.” Garrett joked that she often cries.

This year was a big one for Kim. In Italy, she won silver in the women’s halfpipe at the 2026 Winter Olympics, adding to her already impressive list of achievements. By earning a spot on the podium, Kim joined a small group of snowboarders who have won medals at three straight Winter Games.

She has shown resilience and growth throughout her career, from winning gold as a teenager to staying at the top years later.
