Ollie Gordon Injury Update: Latest on the Dolphins RB After He Got Hurt in Week 11 vs. Commanders

Trying to win in consecutive weeks, the Miami Dolphins may have suffered a blow to Ollie Gordon against the Washington Commanders.

The Miami Dolphins could be hoping for a mini-renaissance after a shocking blowout win over the Buffalo Bills in Week 10. However, things did not get off to a great start in an international game against the Washington Commanders.

Trying to get an early lead in Madrid, they were able to add only three points on the board. However, the points may have come at the cost of an injury to rookie Ollie Gordon on the game’s first drive.

What Happened to Ollie Gordon?

An opening drive that lasted 4 minutes and 25 seconds and saw them push the ball 52 yards downfield ended when the Dolphins couldn’t convert a third-and-2 attempt. Even though they got three, the bigger story was the Gordon injury.

Coming off the field, he was immediately checked out by trainers as the announcing crew called attention to his injury. However, he was able to get back into the game and ended up playing a major role in the game for Miami.

Recording 45 rushing yards on nine carries behind De’Von Achane, he recorded the lone touchdown of the game for the Dolphins. He had a chance to double that number near the end of the game.

With Achane going to the sidelines with a back injury, Gordon got the ball with a chance to take the lead from the two-yard line with less than two minutes remaining in the game on a fourth-down opportunity.

However, he was met by the Washington defense, who stopped him before he got into the end zone. Miami was able to pull out a victory, albeit in overtime, where an interception on Marcus Mariota by Jack Jones allowed them to hit a field goal for the win.

Fantasy Outlook After Gordon’s Injury

Ollie Gordon is a fringe roster-worthy player at this point, but his injury could open the door for an interesting opportunity as we come down the stretch of the fantasy season.

Jaylen Wright was on the field before the rookie against Washington, and should Gordon miss time, we are looking at a pretty clear handcuff situation to De’Von Achane.

Miami goes on its bye in Week 12, so this would have to be a multi-week absence, but Wright would make for a reasonable stash with games against the Saints, Jets, and Bengals still on the Dolphins’ schedule.
