After a slow 2024 season, one NFL storyline just refuses to fade: the return of Odell Beckham Jr. For a few days, the internet thought his career was over after a fake retirement post went viral. But OBJ himself put an end to that rumor quickly. “Not done yet,” he posted, clarifying his plans to suit up in 2025.
Odell Beckham Jr. Looking To Play in 2025
NFL insider Tom Pelissero confirmed that Beckham is already drawing interest from several teams. Beckham has been training hard and waiting for the right call.

Sure, Beckham isn’t the same highlight-reel sensation he was in his prime with the Giants, but the resume still speaks for itself: three Pro Bowls, two Second-Team All-Pro nods, and a Super Bowl ring with the Rams.
Let’s look at the top five teams that can sign OBJ in the 2025 season.
1. San Francisco 49ers
With the 49ers looking to bounce back from a terrible 2024 season, one of the main concerns is in the wide receiver room. Brandon Aiyuk is out until midseason, and Deebo Samuel was traded away. That’s where OBJ comes in and fills the blank.
Imagine him working in the middle of the field alongside Christian McCaffrey and George Kittle as defenses rush to cover every threat. Although he isn’t the long-term solution, he might be the link that keeps this attack going until the cavalry returns.
2. Pittsburgh Steelers
Pittsburgh is in “win-now” mode, and adding Beckham would be the ultimate all-in move. Aaron Rodgers is running the show, DK Metcalf is stretching the field, and Jonnu Smith is holding down the tight end spot; all they’re missing is that crafty, competitive veteran receiver who can make contested catches on third-and-long.
Beckham’s chemistry with Rodgers could be instant, and let’s be honest, a Rodgers-to-OBJ touchdown in black and gold would have Steelers fans losing their minds.
3. New York Giants
Tell me the NFL wouldn’t go crazy if Beckham returned to the Giants. This is where he became a superstar, where “The Catch” was born, and where he built one of the biggest brands in football. With Russell Wilson at QB and Malik Nabers looking like a future star, Beckham could be the veteran spark that ties it all together.
A Wilson-to-Beckham touchdown at MetLife? That’s a nostalgia play and a marketing dream.
4. Minnesota Vikings
Due to Jordan Addison’s suspension for the first three games, the Vikings have a problem to deal with. However, they have the ideal answer: sign OBJ. As the offensive coordinator for the Rams during their run to the Super Bowl, head coach Kevin O’Connell understands how to use him.
You’ll see chemistry immediately when you combine Beckham’s relationship with Justin Jefferson from LSU. When Addison returns, he will be a frightening addition to an attack that might overwhelm defenses rather than merely filling in.
5. Arizona Cardinals
At first glance, this one feels like a curveball. But the Cardinals have something brewing. Marvin Harrison Jr. is already making plays, Trey McBride is a consistent target, and Kyler Murray has weapons. What they’re missing is a veteran who can set the tone.
Beckham could be the locker room voice that shows this young offense what it takes to win in December and January. Plus, with defenses doubling Harrison, OBJ could feast on single coverage.
While everyone knows that OBJ isn’t the same player he once was, that doesn’t mean he’s officially done for good. If utilized correctly, there’s an opportunity for an offense ready to lead the charge in 2025. However, everyone’s question is: Where will he end up?
