Noah Brown was already dealing with an injury coming into the Houston Texans‘ Wild Card game against the Cleveland Browns, and the veteran wideout went down with another issue on Saturday. What happened to Brown, and what’s his current injury status?
Noah Brown Injury Update
Brown briefly stayed down on the field after colliding with Browns safety Juan Thornhill early in the first quarter. He was attempting to haul in a deep, over-the-middle pass from Texans quarterback C.J. Stroud.
Houston initially announced Brown was questionable to return with a shoulder injury. However, he was officially ruled out at the start of the second half.

Brown was questionable heading into Wild Card Weekend. The 28-year-old injured his back in the Texans’ Week 17 win over the Tennessee Titans and did not play in the club’s playoff-sealing Week 18 victory against the Indianapolis Colts.
Brown failed to practice on Tuesday or Wednesday before returning for a limited session on Thursday.
Brown, who spent the first five seasons of his NFL career with the Dallas Cowboys before joining the Texans before the 2023 campaign, was on injured reserve from Weeks 2-5 while dealing with a groin issue. He subsequently missed Weeks 11-12 due to a knee injury.
Despite missing action, Brown still set a career-high with 567 receiving yards this past season. He exploded in Weeks 9 and 10, posting at least six catches and 150 yards in each game, both Houston victories.
The Texans lost dynamic rookie WR Tank Dell to a season-ending injury in early December, making Brown a critical component of Houston’s pass-catching corps. Robert Woods, Xavier Hutchinson, and John Metchie III are available behind Texans WR1 Nico Collins.
