Oilers Fans React To Latest Zach Hyman Injury Update

While the Oilers continue to struggle, a recent update on the return date of Zach Hyman has the Edmonton fans celebrating in joy.

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that the absence of Zach Hyman has haunted the Edmonton Oilers more than expected. In their 17 games so far, the franchise has won only seven games, with the front line being rendered useless.

Head coach Kris Knoblauch has tried multiple line changes to compensate for Hyman, but so far, nothing has been working. But a recent update suggests that the left-winger is finally set to return by the end of this week. And the fans are already overjoyed as they took over social media.

What Did the Oilers Fans Have to Say About Zach Hyman’s Return?

The Oilers have been struggling with their front line since their season opener against the Calgary Flames on October 8. The absence of Hyman has left their offense in shambles, and so far, none of Knoblauch’s line combinations seem to have worked.

However, while the fans were getting more and more frustrated with his antics, insider Jason Gregor had some good news for them. In a recent tweet, he mentioned, “Hyman injury update. Won’t play in Philly on Wednesday.”

Gregor continued, “He will make his season debut either in Columbus on Thursday or in Carolina on Saturday. He is a sure thing for Carolina and a possibility for Columbus. Hoping for Thursday, but it will depend on the final test.”

The Oilers Nation immediately rejoiced over this news, as with Hyman now back in the lineup, the team can finally look for a balanced front line. One fan even took to X to post, “This has been drawn out so long, haha. Dude’s been ready for a while.”

They pointed out how news of Hyman’s recovery has been circulated for the last few weeks, but there is still no update from the Oilers themselves. Meanwhile, another fan posted, “Bless your heart,” obviously glad that the left-winger would be back.

Other fans, however, noted how there are still no official updates from Knoblauch or the rest of the Oilers staff. One of them even tweeted, “So the coach knows nothing? The fans are running out of patience with Knoblauch and his tactics.

Not to mention, with the lack of any information from him, fans are totally in the dark regarding what Knoblauch is planning. His habit of breaking the lines whenever the Oilers go down a point has already led to the franchise playing more than 28 lines so far.

However, while some fans blamed Knoblauch for his vague answers, one fan pointed out that there is still a chance of an injury. They wrote, “Ok, so day-to-day?” While it is known that Hyman won’t be in the lineup for the game against the Flyers, the fans will see him soon.
