Nazem Kadri was not too pleased to be left off Team Canada’s Orientation Camp roster.
Team Canada announced its invitees to the 2026 Olympic Orientation Camp, slated to take place later in August. Among the names included are NHL stars Sidney Crosby, Connor McDavid, Cale Makar, Adin Hill, and Mitch Marner. Center Kadri was left off the roster after scoring a career-high of 35 goals during the Calgary Flames’ most recent league season.
Kadri took to Instagram to reply to BarDown’s social media posting with three question marks, seemingly in reaction to him not being included on the roster.
League Fans Rip Nazem Kadri to Shreds
Kadri has not dressed for Canada at the World Hockey Championships during all six of his NHL seasons, which did not have Stanley Cup Playoffs action to follow. Kadri hasn’t worn a Maple Leafs jersey for Canada since the 2010 World Juniors, which featured the team winning a silver medal.
Currently wearing No. 91 for Calgary, Kadri won a Stanley Cup with the Colorado Avalanche in 2022 before joining the Flames later that summer.

Back to the topic, while Kadri was surprised to see himself left off Canada’s camp roster, many fans were not.
“He’s not as good as he thinks he is,” one fan said on X.

“He should explain which player should be left off for him and make a logical case as to why he’s better. My guess is he can’t,” another said.
“Yea, not really dawning names, but he’s a below-average hockey player…seriously below average,” one other fan said across social media.

“There’s much better players available simple as that also he’s 34,” another said.

Team Canada’s General Manager is Kyle Dubas, who previously traded away Kadri while with the Maple Leafs.
However, if the 34-year-old starts hot for his 2025-26 season, he could still get some consideration later on; And clearly, that’s what he’s going to be gunning for.
