‘Are We Still Believing This Dog’ – NHL Fans React to Viral Sensation AirCorg’s Oilers in 6 Prediction

As the Edmonton Oilers and Dallas Stars face off once again in the playoffs, viral sensation AirCorg shares her predicted winner.

Hockey fans are split over the latest prediction by AirCorg, a dog that’s gone viral multiple times for calling the outcomes of sporting events. The puck drops Wednesday, May 21, as the Edmonton Oilers face the Dallas Stars in a rematch of last year’s Western Conference final.

AirCorg, also known as Steph Furry or Lilo, has become a social media favorite over the years.

NHL Fans Ambivalent About AirCorg’s Latest Prediction

A post on X shows AirCorg doing the famous ball-and-basket routine that it’s done several times prior. This time, the routine was set up with one basket for the Oilers and the other for the Stars.

According to the video, the corgi picked Edmonton to win the series in six games. However, not all fans are impressed, and not everyone bought the prediction.

“Are we still believing this dog when it’s been wrong so many times?” one fan posted.

“Shooting basketballs at a basket to determine who’s gonna win a hockey series seems messed up,” another fan said.

“Stars in 5 so, that’s wrong,” one user wrote.

Others saw the humor or brushed off the clip.

“How come you never see the sweep? This guy just puts separate clips together to fit his narrative,” one fan pointed out.

“Think it’s time for a new skit. Love the corgi but pretty sure no one even watches these vids anymore,” another commented.

As pointed out by fans, AirCorg’s NHL picks have been hit or miss. She once infamously picked the Toronto Maple Leafs to win during the 2023 playoffs. This year, she also predicted that the Vegas Golden Knights would beat the Oilers in Round 2.

Both the Stars and Oilers have looked like real threats to defending champion Florida Panthers, who are trying to make the Stanley Cup Final for the third straight year.

Dallas got past the Colorado Avalanche in seven games in Round 1, then upset Presidents’ Trophy winners the Winnipeg Jets in Round 2. A big reason has been the recent addition of Mikko Rantanen, who’s now in the mix for playoff MVP. The Stars are now in their third straight Western Conference final.

The Oilers, meanwhile, lost their first two games in Round 1 to the Los Angeles Kings — then went on a six-game win streak. They beat the Kings for the fourth straight year in the postseason and then took a 2-0 lead over Pacific Division champion Vegas before finishing the series in five games.

Oilers captain Connor McDavid — widely considered the best player of his generation — now chases the one prize he hasn’t won yet: the Stanley Cup.
